Proof please, please, make the sound as un ear bleeding as possible if you could =) Us old timers (me) have found their last couple of coherent outings quite uncomfortable. If there is someway to enhance the bass without distortion or OT treble that would be great thanks.
[quote]
yeah would be nice
[quote]
Sure there is, but, um, wouldn't it be customary to ask if I was actually coming to the event before saying I was doing sound?

Laughing

No-one's mentioned it to me yet.. Maybe someone would like to get in touch?

nah, i reckon you should just turn up, muscle in and fix up.

Righto. Sorted.

As in turns out - I am down at Coherent this weekend - we are pulling out a wall to turn it into a giant bass-trap, as well as installing some acoustic baffles.

Cant quarantine it will all be finished in time, but things are certainly getting tweaked down there..

Pulling out a wall, nice thats the kind of effort I like to hear about.

I have a hammer and a saw if you need any help.

Out of interest is Coherents sound always so loud due to a lack of overall grunt, i.e. not being able to play it at half pace to get the right volume, or just over eager DJs playing with the volume during their sets?

Not dissing the sound system as I know how god damn expensive the stuff is, but curious, perhaps my ear drums are repairing themselves and can't take the pace anymore....
[quote]
Shocked Sorry Proof!!! My bad...

Ahem... yeah. HOT stuff indeed, can't wait to hear T with Proof's audio trickery at full effect! Boom!
[quote]
S'all good.

It is volume, ultimately, as those DAS tweeters turn shrill real quick once you start over-driving them.

However, I would also say, at that point - it is normally as loud as it needs to be anyhow - its just the DJ (who cant hear how it is sounding on the dancefloor) tends to naturally get excited, and keep on increasing it, and, for example, if it is a Digital Mixer, then the DJing clipping that means a clipped signal is about to get amplified really loudly...

There are also a couple of other things that I will be tweaking down there to see if we can get a bit more 'juice' out of the system.

Well.. I can tell you now, my club modifications are going to include a 2.4 x 1.2m sheet of steel..

Very Happy

So, by my calculations, I am estimating an addition of at least 6db of clean, tight bass to the system for this night.

Faaaa-BOOOM!
[quote]
well, i guess we shall see (hear) next friday night then!

btw, if my ears are ringing at the end of the night, ill be hunting you down. Razz

I know! Wow - just seen heard some mixes from the past couple of months. I cry every time I think about the fact that almost every single hot producer in the world sends T a demo of their music... way further out than stinking old promos.... Sad
Haha - gonna be a stormer!!

!!!! Holy shit
Tomorrow!! I've just looked back at the year since booka shade late november 2008 and it's been a big one, where I think this just summarizes what it's been about, the hotness and fun, and being dj t, what he's all about, familiar faces and class !

Just spoke to Thomas on the phone. He's in the gold coast, and he just had a thai massage. I asked him was there a happy ending haha. He's really cheerful. He's looking forward to it, he's ready. Really nice guy!

Can I just say big ups to Proof, who's after long wait got his hands on that Coherent system! It's apparently an on going project but now it's sounding significantly better, or should i say, very good.

I've been getting a load of texts about tickets/doorsales etc. It's a friday so everyone's tied up either enjoying the sun or at work - so get doorsales I suggest. We know most of you do that anyway so have accomodated. So no one should freak out should it come Real Groovy or DMC say all out tomorrow. I just haven't topped them up with tickets Smile

Forecast for tomorrow: Sunshine and feelin fine, And at night: earthquakes Very Happy

Getting down there early for a few final tweaks. Looking forward to this!

Ah, good. Nothing worse than walking away from a gig with ringing ears..

See ya Wednesday... Smile
