basement jaxx - romeo, superman lovers, jamiroquoi ... is this the way house is going..

there has been so much pop house released recently, is it taking over..

alot of it has certainly found a house in the sets of bevan keys.

"I just can't get u outa my head"
-come on, admit it, everyone secretly likes that song. As for Romeo, that's the best track Britney Spears never did...

I'm sorry, but thats just not House Music. And
there's too many dj's that won't let it happen....

I hope!

That Kylie number is very well produced & I
would be proud to have made a contribution to
it...

pity she can't sing but as George Harrison in his
immortal words commented on the Spice Girls
"at least you can watch it with the sound down"...

There is a place for tracks like that but as long as they don't sneak their way into all our fav DJ's crates then all will be fine!

cant forget five 'lets dance'!!
i will never admit liking this track!!

....oops.

I like Basement Jaxx - Romeo, when i 1st heard it on the radio i thought it was cheddar but after hearing it on a big rig my opinion changed.
Sure it is fairly lightweight fare but the production is right on the money imho
However Jamiroquai is another matter. This is the same guy who tried to block the release of the MAW remix of Emergency On Planet Earth coz he didn't like house music. Now he's jumping on the bandwagon trying to boost his flagging career. His steez is weak.
Superman Lovers is just generic disco house which i neither like or find offensive.

In support of Romeo: Carl Cox & Felix Da Housecat both playlisted it (sorry but i respect there opinion more than u's fullahs Wink
It fills the dancefloor with girls like no other tune (this is not a bad thing in my eyes Very Happy

Correction: Bevan Keys does not have Kylie in his record bag.

fakkk... if she were in there where would he fit
the records???

let's face it ... recording corporations got clued on to the popularity of house years ago and adjusted their products to suit the changing demographics.

it's still pop regardless of it's roots in house.

as for me, i can admit to not owning any of it. Smile

Who's heard the Miguel Migs remix of Britney Spears Slave 4 U? OK, maybe he just did it for the money, but he's done a nice job. Anyway, a bit of pop never goes astray.
