Im new to this, dont have decks yet. just using my laptop, did a school after ball last weekend, 350 + people, it went off. made about 6 grand. Just came to biggie to get some new tunes and hopefully find out some usefull info.

none of the tunes you have mentioned are techno....like you said your new to this and its easy for a newbie to classify everything as techno.

those tunes and artists you have mentioned are trance and hard dance producers....belive me as i have some of their tunes in my trance box.


and if you made 6grand off a high school party sounds like your in it for the wrong reasons...and sounds like your either talking bollocks or you are the biggest rip off/con artist in the game.

well i got 6 grand from tickets and put it all back into the party mate, laser lights, 2 grands worth of lights from edwards sounds, buses, security, i came out with very little. dont be so fast to critsise

djamos - you should check out a site such as www.groovetech.com and search by genre and sub genre so that you can familiarise yourself with the sound of each.

As DJ Maya said, its easy when new to the world of electronic music to mistakenly call it all techno, and i think you would find if you played real techno to a school ball, you might get a number of confused looks, seeing as its the commercial dance tracks such as the ones you have listed that they are wanting to hear one would presume.
