For some reason it riles me when people put the track name before the artist name. It's like sort books by title instead of author. Laughing

Good to see that everyone under the sun has started playing that 12 year old Ian Pooley record because DJ Sneak revived it on his recent mix CD. One of the more memorable records Pooley ever made.

I beg to differ rob....(Biggie's hitting some new heights discussing track / artist etiquette)...agree that sorting should be by artist but introduction of a tune should be "name of track" by "name of artist" and in most cases tracklisting are doing just that, introducing tunes to the listener.

And yes Sneak has revived some classics, All over my face was 78ish I think...new tempo, new kicks...export!

I love banter.

you never see track name / artist name... thats just plain weird

save that shit for them other genres

you're introducing an artists work in a compilation, it is only good manners to acknowledge the creator before their work

cheers for the link

I don't agree with the logic but as you were. A massive percentage, probably in the high 90s, of all other mentions of records, tracklists, discogs etc list the artist first - probably since they are the key identifier of most items of music.

This isn't biggie hitting new heights or lows... it's been discussed a number of times. We tried to make it a ban-able offense but got side-tracked taking the piss out of funky house for 18 months.
