Junior Jedi DJ Series - begins April 15th!

Beginning Wednesday night, 15th of April, Trench Bar is hosting an ‘open decks’ competition, on a bi-weekly basis…
Anyone can enter – no matter how experienced / in-experienced you are and what sub-genre of House you play.

The winner from each heat will get to play on Thursday Selectah on George FM, alongside Selectah host and general all round trouble maker Thane Kirby.  Semi final and final rounds will be held as the year unfolds, with the ultimate winner (sometime around the end of 2009) playing on George FM multiple times, given loads of publicity, being taken on as a Trench Bar resident, and ultimately launching an exciting DJing career.

Says DJ Philippa (one of the series hosts):  “We’re hoping these nights are well-received, and that we get entries from all around the country.  It’s basically a fun way of meeting up and coming DJs, the odd bedroom DJ / legend, and helping catapult a few people into the lime-light..  and we will definitely be doing  our best to group DJs from similar sub-genres together, with a host of Auckland DJ legends as guest judges”.

Ps - Anyone can come along to the Junior Jedi nights – in fact crowd participation is one of the things the DJs will get judged on.  Start time: 10pm sharp (though the bar opens 9pm), alternate Wednesdays.  All over by 12:30am
