Central Promotions Announcement: (Newsletter)

SATURDAY DECEMBER 10TH 2005 -

Remember that date - because Central Promotions present the biggest event of the year.

JUICED 2 - THE DRUM & BASS SUMMER EDITION FEATURING THE FRESCO ZONE!

As originally promised by the people who brought you the first ever underage drum & bass event, Juiced - we now can now announce Juiced 2.

Central Promotions are proud to present - Juiced 2 - featuring DJ CRAZE (US) & MC SHARPNESS (US)

"On the turntables, DJ Craze is generally considered to have few peers. Having won the DMC Technics World DJ Championship title an unparalleled three times. He's been written up in Time magazine and has performed across the globe. Most importantly, he has become an almost one-man bridge between the world's of American hip-hop and British drum & bass.

The worlds of dance and hip-hop exist in separate spheres. Despite occasional nods towards rapprochement -- a mid-level MC might appear on a big-name dance track, or a mainstream hip-hop producer might entertain a brief flirtation with the dancefloor -- the two schools maintain an attitude of consistent, blissful ignorance towards each other.

Which makes Craze's achievement all the more significant. He seems genuinely comfortable existing at the confluence of two seemingly exclusive worlds. The UK D&B scene is notoriously dismissive of American junglists, but Craze has won the respect of producers and DJs from across the genre's entire spectrum, including Goldie, Grooverider, LTJ Bukem and Bad Company. Considering how prickly and clannish most jungle cliques can be, the fact that he has toured with such a wide cross-section of DJs is significant.

Arith Delgado better known to the world as turntablist extraordinaire Craze didn't just win one World Title, but was crowned DMC World champion three history-making years in a row (1998, 1999, and 2000) before retiring and earning his place in hip hop history as one of greatest ever to bless the twelve hundreds.

However, even without the pressure of having to defend a title that will forever be synonymous with his name, post-DMC Craze is still keeping busy. As part of heavyweight North American crew, The Allies, he's constantly raising the bar for DJs everywhere - innovating, captivating, and straight devestating - silencing those that refuse to acknowledge the turntable as a legitimate instrument in today's music world.

With a musical repetoire as diverse as his arsenal of scratches, Craze will be bringing his hip hop, breaks, drum'n'bass - and of course, turntablism influecnced sound to Auckland, New Zealand. So before you hear the man (trust me, when you're named the world's best three years running, you're THE MAN) from Miami, bring yourself up to speed with the one they call Craze."

In an interview held in 2002 (3 years ago, this month) - DJ Craze talks with Drum & Bass TV about how he's only *just* (hehe, in 2002) breaking into the drum and bass scene, and how he's working on his own content for use a coupla years down the track..

Low res version (56k) - http://www.breakbeat.co.uk/player/simple.asx?ID=5059
High res version (256k) - http://www.breakbeat.co.uk/player/simple.asx?ID=5058 (Recommended)

It has plenty of scratch interludes, and gives you an idea of who he is, where he's come from and why he doesn't have to conform to anyone's rules in regards to genres..

Biggups to Drum & Bass TV for these hookups.

Please note: Each movie has a short 10 second advertorial to begin with.

Requires Windows Media Player.
Contains some coarse language & some excellent international rudebwoy style scratching!
