Journey 2... The show must go on...

Last night was a great time fir all those who made the effort. The support of those involved and those who were there is enough to make me want to try again. And yes, I was wrong. Apparently the all ages scene in general doesn't want to go to one of Auckland's top clubs for $30. We were supposed to be bringing in a whole lot of extra gear for the night and some amazing dancers and visuals but all that was cancelled. Apparently $30 is too expensive and everyone knew that except me. Had we sold out we still would have only made a small profit. So what do you want? The idea behind Journey was to open the doors of venues like Kiss and Case and Bed and maybe even the St James or Town Hall. It can be done. But does the all age scene not want that? Any way the all age scene is not getting back on K'Rd for a while cos no club will let anyone in after last night. There is more at stake than you guys might think. With only a couple of dance promoters in the all age scene things are going to get harder to organise. I would love to be able to create a dance party that the all age scene would be proud to call their own. With failures like last night you'll find that fewer and fewer people are going to care about all agers as a market. We can make something new in this scene. Brain is gone, Laggered is gone. Lets do something new and big. Tell me your wish list. Any local DJ's, any local venue, and how much would you pay for it and that will become my goal for Journey 2.

Well I made the effort to turn up last night, and i had a good time, sure the turn out was poor, it finished early, and the organiser/promoter probably made no profit at all... but it was nice. I liked the music that the dj's played, all the people were friendly, i honestly didnt mind paying 20$. It was worth it, for me.. i dont know about everyone else.. but if i hadnt gone.. i would have stayed at home. being well bored and having nothing to do.. considering its a tuesday night and all.. I like to contribute to the all ages scene as often as possible, because its great. Im 17, so i dont really have that long to wait till im 18 and then i can go to real clubs, and events and things.. so for now, i want to support the scene as much as i can. =)

I had fun, it was well organised and the people running it have great attitudes. Even when things didn't go to plan, they were still really positive and didn't try and back out of paying anyone.

They took a punt and lost, but at least they took a punt. Maximum respect for putting up and laying it on the line - equally to those who supported by coming along, you guys rock.

Anyway, next big thing? Burn this Friday night at Central Studios (www.ravenpromotions.co.nz), then Havoc @ Klub2K on Saturday (www.klub2k.co.nz). C'mon people, let's get some shit happening these holidays. Burn went off a couple of weeks ago, 450+ people - it was MAD!!

And Havoc? When was the last time the allage crew got to see Havoc in action behind the dex? If you like funky house and something a little different, you'll like this I'm sure. Support from G-Way, Auckland's favourite Asian.

omigod!! i cant believe so many ppl didnt turn up cuz i had a wicked time! kiss is so much stylier than all ages venues. ppl can b so stingy over $20....... i paid $30 (didnt kno abt price drop until too late) and i thought it was worth every bit. think abt it..... if it was r18 the door sales would b cheaper but u would of spent at least $20 altogehter for drinks

sarah stanton, u played great set i danced like hard out..... but watever hapened 2 siren? i would of liked it 2 last a bit longer too, like at least 4am cuz i was having fun.

and yeah maybe $20 was the price u had 2 pay, 4 ppl 2 leave their attitude at the door. i luv it when ppl smile @ each other!! and the girl in the red boob tube was cool.... she was all smiley and that made me smile too. and the one in the glow-in-the-dark orange top. the guys were nice too.... just having fun, not trying 2 find an excuse 2 smash each other 2 bits.

ok well it may have been a failure 2 some, but 2 me it was fucken cool )))))))))))))))))))))))))) definitely up 4 a journey 2......... same dj line up, same price $20, and kiss prolly wont let us in agian, so maybe jones or bed?

Yeah, i liked the space to moove around too, and everyones attitudes were great. Lovely people, just wanting to have a good time. I'll definitely be in for a 'journey 2' because last night was lots of fun!

Fark, just got home boys and girls from my massive journey, too massive actually, trying to find a cafe to suck an espresso but none to my findings, but the friendly doorman at fu let me thru till about five in the morning which was nice, then lurked up at havana for somewhere safe to stay, then lurked, caught a link bus at 6, woke up on it at 8, had a fruit infusion tea from THE STRAWBERRY ALARM CLOCK on parnell rise, followed by a flat white and 2 cigarettes.Lurked to newmarket and caught a train home. Now I'm home, fully fucked up from walking for too long, i'm gonna crank up some ambience sounz, (ATMOS) smoke a fat joint and have good sleep, but first tings first. I must say thank you too the promoters miquel and nurse girlfriend for a cool night, interesting wasn't it... I tink the promoters paid kiss to stay open for us beans on the dancefloor which is astounding, they even gave us a can of red bull, the super beans i call em. I would like an outdoor party. With lotsa music, big wanky deep bass house, hard house, trance/psy, drum and bass. And i would like to say thanks to boy/girl, cool night guys.

ya, i think an outdoor rave will be excellent especially for the summer season.. but it has to be somewhere that can be easily to get to, somewhere close and central.. because we dont want to be driving out into the middle of nowhere *thinks how cool that would be* and some of us.. *including myself* umm dont really drive that much. so an outdoor venue in close proximity to town would be wicked!.. with cool lights and visuals..yeah!.. umm maybe im getting a bit carried away *am i the only one who is excited?* well.. or anywhere is good actually... like jones or bed, or the staircase! heh.
