Hey Blair, tight mix as always dude, very nice.

One thing i noticed however (imho of course), and this goes for a lot of the mixes ive heard from djs in this forum lately, is the lack of acceleration from start to finish. Not so much of an issue here being a fairly tech/minimal mix, but the start promises so much that the end just doesnt quite deliver. Maybe its just my old skool trance roots talking?? a topic for debate no doubt.
Still a very professionally assembled mix Music

Aaaaaand GO!

Risk - I like mixes which pace themselves and have dips and turns and well thought out endings. It's easy to make a mix which just ramps up and up.

Agreed, a straight ascend in a set gets boring, even in trance.
As Rob has said, a set that paces themselves and have unexpected twists is a well crafted and interesting.

But as you said it is about opinion. Pink Winky

Hey Risk thanks for taking a listen. This is a pretty tech/minimal mix for the most part and I didn't really want to bang it out as I was trying to create a warmup vibe. In fact I was initially going to make it a 2 dikcer but never got around to doing the 2nd disc which probably would have been more up your alley.

I did actually have an alternate ending planned out for this mix which was fluffier/bigger but I decided to take a deeper darker turn towards the end, just seemed to feel right considering the overall mood of the mix. I appreciate that this is always going to be a matter of preference though.

Cheers dude. Yeah dark and evil is what I was going for. That last tune is one of my favourites of the last year. Going back to my psy trance roots I guess. Cool

And who doesn't like a happy ending? Razz I do know what you mean though, and it is one thing that has always frustrated me when listening to a lot of mixes - the lack of a satisfying climax. There are different ways to go about that climax though, it doesn't always have to be big room style anthems to finish a mix. Just my 2c
