JAMES LAWSON (UK)

James Lawson is one of the most versatile DJs in the hard dance scene . He made his mark on the UK club circuit with a number of high profile and long running residencies at London's premier club nights, which included Ministry of Sound, Extreme Euphoria, Frantic and Twisted at The Fridge. This lead to an explosion in the demand for his talents at every leading hard dance event around the UK including Polysexual, Slinky, Innovate, Heat, Frantic, Tidy Weekender and Creamfields plus overseas dates in Russia, Argentina, Finland, Norway, Holland, Ibiza, Australia, USA, Canada and New Zealand.

As a talented musician and prolific producer James is responsible for many of the hard dance anthems being played in the clubs today. As one of the busiest people in hard dance James Lawson has a vast knowledge and experience in the scene, both as A&R and label co-boss for Edison Factor Records, DJ and producer.

James Lawson is also one half of the Edison Factor. He and partner Matt Williams have torn up the LIVE PA rule book and were the first in the hard dance scene to include live Guitar, live Trombone and live Drums into their PA alongside live keyboard playing and be the ones to be actually playing these instruments! This is all coupled with the fact that The Edison Factor were the first in the hard dance scene to make use of innovative computer software Abelton LIVE which has now become the standard among those performing their live Pas. Again leading from the front! James has even been seen DJing with this revolutionary software (again, another first for the Hard Dance Scene!)

All this has meant that The Edison Factor are fast becoming the most in demand LIVE PA on the hard dance scene and have played at gigs such as: Global Gathering, Creamfields, Tidy Weekender, Slinky, Polysexual, Godskitchen and many more

James is also working on his other love in life Psy Trance. Anyone that has head James play in the last 4 years will have heard him pushing this sound in the hard dance scene as well as in its natural environment. In fact, in would be fair to say that James has influenced much of the scene in London (centre of Hard Dance) to the point that the psy influence on hard dance is here to stay.

Don't miss James Lawson's first Auckland appearance in 4 years, alongside some of our best locals in support across two rooms - Saturday the 30th of August at Space Nightclub!
