"its getting hot in here" arrrgggh i can't stand the biarch in his video clip.. EWWWWWWH

Hey while i'm on the subject of Nelly's clip, has anyone seen people around town wearing band aids on their faces????
[quote]
nelly is a gimp.
[quote]
serendipity - you gotta be kidding me? hahaha thats the funniest isht ive heard all day.

i came up with some theories...

maybe nelly wears a band-aid to show the world that he's hurting inside.. and he'll remove it when he's been healed.

or.. maybe he need to learn how to shave properly?
[quote]
Maybe he's got a really pussy (!!?how do you
spell puss -y?) scab that he can't stop picking.

Back to the topic at hand. I don't think there's
really anywhere that has regular weekly hiphop
gigs except perhaps Safari Lounge on a weds
night (Ponsonby Rd).
Fu bar & Galatos have good one off parties now
and then but generally you have to wade thru all
the bollocks before a decent hiphop night
comes up
[quote]
regular *decent* hiphhop gigs that should read.

FRISK is a pessimist. Define a good hip-hop nite from last year? I haven't been in A to the K this year but i'd like to hear what you found to be enjoyable.

Sometimes its not about the club, more like the company.

Although djs selection and the bar selection play a major part in making or breaking a good nite for me.

Pessimistic? No i just don't like the watered
down hip pop that you tend to hear around town
these days. I also don't like the D & B crossover
shit that some clubs try and fuse into the hip
hop nights . Just the straight up bangin hiphop
is more my steez.
Fu brings the niceness. Sir Vere's parties rock.
The big pimpin 'Fu's ya Daddy' parties are tip
top.
[quote]
Did u go to the FIRST ever FUs YA DADDY? I was soooooooo messed up but it was really packed! Lots of people, crowd had soooooo many girls up front going P-MONEY!!! It was a rukkus nite.

I like the dnb/hiphop crossover - probably because thats my style - get bored of one room, go into the other. You never see parties like this in Sydney.

What is straight up bangin hiphop?

Word up, Sirvere's one of my fav's - anyone throwing dancehall over hiphop is all good. Does Mi$o still play out?
[quote]
Dunno Miso, but word to the dancehall.
And yeah a separate D & B room's all good i
just hate hearing it played into the same set in
the same room. Different mindset, yunno?
[quote]
I went to the first fu's ya daddy - it was dope.

DnB and Hip Hop is a really popular combination here. 33-45, dawnraid vs subtronix etc. are always pretty packed.
[quote]
Sir vere is a totall God for everything he's done for HH exposure in NZ, we're lucky he calls Aotearoa home.
33/45 is nusually pretty good, it's not pure, it's RnB cross over, and all the DJ's have really different styles, but it doesn't cause pain.
Did anyone catch 'beat fix' @ WBC a couple of months ago when Sir Vere released?
THAT
was the best night of my life. True.
He played Tribe against Blige. Oh my!
[quote]
yes, I saw some kid wearing a band aid on his cheek
just last week.
