WESTIES I SWEAR I WENT TO WYNDHAM AND THERE WAS DRUM N BASS PLAYING AS FAR AS THE EYE COULD SEE THERE WERE WESTIES!
[quote]
da fuck are westies??
[quote]
long haired, black jeans wearing, possibly mulleted, lion red drinking, holden driving blokes called Shane with girlfriends called Sharon.
[quote]
Well I live in Auckland and listen to DnB and am not a Westie. So I guess its not.
[quote]
Imo there's a fuckload more 'westies' in the trance scene (there's way more white trash anyway).

Stick to the Lounge mcslammer007. Tard.
[quote]
I have to say this . . . I feel there's a bogan element coming into the NZ DnB scene cos a lot of the dark techy stuff is really appealing to them.
[quote]
who gives a fuck???????????????????

eliteist wankers.

"westies" as you call them probably supply you guys with 90% of your drugs.
[quote]
hahahaha good call tyrant. btw im from nelson, and i know what a westie is!

and yeah, bogans are just another version of human. would you be posting it was strange if say an african was into dnb>?
[quote]
I notice @ the INTERNATIONAL DnB gigs there's a lot of bogans hanging out.

There seems to be some corrolation between metalheadz (not confused with Goldies label) and DnB.

I'm cool with that - the more the merrier!!!

Where were all the Bogans @ WBC? I didn't seem em...you wanna pick on Souf Orklanders too cos i'll be up for a battle!!!!
[quote]
Hmm. Odd. I never noticed the crowd contingent consisting mostly of said 'munters' , mcslammer..

The usual drum n bass crowd intermingled with what appeared to be WBC regulars.. Alot of very fine women too..

Regardless, there were no prancey gym boys taking their shirts off to reveal bigger tits than most females have.. Just a sea of up for it headz going off to what had to have been one of the best local gigs all year........

[quote]
well aslong as they/people/anyone have a nice attitude Smile
[quote]
Don't I seem prejudiced? HAHAAHA
Hey I was a metal fiend in my teen years I have to admit . . . AND I do like a bit of that dark techy stuff as well! Gulp! Down goes my pride . . . . Smile
[quote]
They would have been so wasted and wouldn't have cared about what they were dancing (moshing)to...It would have been the staff that put it on...not them?
[quote]
Wait a moment Wyndham is a New club eh??

Yep I would be worried...

Maybe they thought it was 10 pin bowling nite???

Big Up the Westie Massive
[quote]
And the prize for the biggest generalisation goes to... mcslammer.

Wank wank wank wank..

more westies into trance than drumnbass sadat? Pah! What a crock of bullshit.

Dnb is most like heavy metal than any other dance music and hence attracts a lot of old metalheads. Who cares what they look like? If they're good people, thats all that matters.
[quote]
Weeeeeeeeeeellll . . . . Techstep is more like heavy metal . . . . there is a lot of Drum'n'Bass/Jungle that definitely has a different angle on things. Not that you hear that stuff much anymore . . . oh for the good old days . . .

giznad, it depends what your definition of 'westie' is..
The word is overused and misconstrued. One thing you can't deny is that there is more 'white trash' in the trance scene than dnb. Just look at some of the photos (when they come back up)
Check out the dnb photos and you'll find a different sort of crowd with lots of different kinds of people.. tho mostly a younger skating influenced bunch.
Anyway, who gives a fuck really.. this is just a shit-stir thread.
[quote]
It all depends on what you define as a bogan/westie anyways. I used to listen to a lot of punk/hardcore/deathcore back in the day, but that doesn't nessecarily make me a bogan or a munter for that matter. Just because I'm into the darker side of things in general, it doesn't mean I'm gonna crank out the Lion Red, I leave that to my flatmates *laughs*
Its intresting tho, because a lot of the people I've talked to in the scene are ex punks and I've met up again with a lot of people I havn't seen in a while that I used to hang out with in the hardcore scene. At least neither scene has the muscle shirts-off dicks around the place. Smile
[quote]
Yeah fucken thank God for that!!

/me cringes at the Tidy Trax photos
[quote]
All the "westies" i know are more into trance/HH cos
of all the "sexy girls bro."

And oh, Giznad, saying DnB is the dance music most
like metal is a half truth at best. Alot of the
deeper DnB, True Playaz off the top of my head, is
more like house than metal. From what i can see DnB
krus are about the most into the music around. Just
look at this forum compared to the other sub
genres. The Krd peeps are all in the lounge it seems.
Something to think a
[quote]
True Playaz Like House???
More like Hip Hop I think...

Its true us folks are real Dedecated to the music, rather than Looking good in the club..
[quote]
too many metalers at d&b gigs? you say that like its a bad thing.

before the dance scene... the trance crew were down the loaded hog on the coronas gettin messy to ace of bass

metalers on the other hand were putting bands together, doing heavy local gigs at thistle hall, or at home finding deep meaning in their parent's old megadeath vinyl and sepultura cds

i know who i got more respect for Smile
[quote]
Yeah bro, I used to play in a metal band! I had an old Jackson with a floyd rose floating bridge 'n shit.. but it got stolen at a NOFX concert.
That was 5-6 years ago now though Very Happy
[quote]
Well, I have noticed when I go to a DnB gig, the crowd is just a bunch of all sorts of people, and there's no posing or shiney pants or any of that dumb stuff; everyone is there 'coz of the beats and that's what matters...

Westies? Hmmm. I dunno about that. But I can definitely say DnB is what stole my ears from black metal and death metal... heh heh.
[quote]
Fair nuff Stace

Point was saying DnB is like metal is like saying
all dance music sounds the same- bullshit in other
words.

Also, I cant see whats wrong with guitar music.
Could someone please enlighten me, maybe mcslammer
[quote]
I think the point was there is a corrolation between people who like metal/ska/punk crossing over into DnB.
[quote]
anyone going to fear factory? same weekend as krust n die im definately there Razz
[quote]

[quote]

[quote]
mcslammer what the fuck was that you dare come in to biggie drum and bass forum and try and call every one that likes drum and bass westies.
I don't post very much but that kind of generalisation is just not on. Would you go up to someone at a drum and bass party and shout 'hey mate your a westie nice to meet you'. I think not, so don't come to biggie drum and bass forum and hide behind your alias 'mcslammer' because for one you ain't no mc and you sure ain't slamming shit.
Alot of people out there read these posts and one day you will get burnt like today. You are banned from biggie drum and bass forum. If you post here again I will give out your address and phone number to the drum and bass massive. You have been warned!
[quote]
Well said DaMarky Smile

Bring on the bogans!

I'm still one at heart.

Concord Dawn are, so (was...maybe still is) Presha at some stage.

Fuck it...elitism is blase
