I have a couple of questions.

Why cannot I fill all the spaces on screen 1 with apps? I have two empty spaces on the bottom right and its annoying me, I can't move any apps to there.

Why does my iphone not have great reception at my desk (ie 1 or 2 bars), but I can move 10 steps away into the heart of our building (Vero Centre) and have full signal?

I think thats all for now.

try and move your apps in itunes rather than on the phone.

iphones and smart phones in general have poor reception. Vodafone sucks.

Yeah, it's a bit fiddly moving app icons around until you get the knack. As bob says, do it in iTunes:

Plug in iPhone, let it sync. Click on the iPhone in the left bar under devices, then click on the Apps tab.

PROTIP: Because I'm 99% sure iTunes on Windows doesn't do it by default:
1: Click on the Photos tab, and set the photos to sync to a folder somewhere. Don't just choose 'My Pictures' because the sync goes both ways and will load your phone with everything in there, make a new folder for your phone and just sync that.
2: Click on the Info tab, and set your contacts to sync with something - Windows Contacts is going to be the obvious one if you're running modern windows.

While Apple makes this stuff all sync automatically on OSX, it doesn't seem to on Windows, so people get caught when their phone takes a shit, they restore the backup and it hasn't included things like contacts and photos.

If your contacts are stored in the cloud (i.e. via an Exchange account or Exchange Sync to a Google Apps account) then you don't need to worry, but if not, do the contacts sync thing for sure.
