India vs. Pakistan (NOT CRICKET)

Both have just tested nuclear-capable missles.

Accusing each other of the usual, India now asks why
they can't attack Pakistan now that the US has set a
precident of not needing UN support for such things.

India says that Pakistan is a haven for terrorism and
poses a threat and that the UN does not listen to India - so
why can't they just go in and deal to Pakistan?

One media comentator said the possibility of a small
scale nuclear conflict between India and Pakistan is
likely.

Great.

Don't panic, they both have nukes now so the MAD doctrine will hopefully avert any major conflict.

Well only Nukes can result in a MAD scenario. Chemical and bio weapons while extremely nasty don't assure destruction.

The other requirement for MAD is that you love your own citizens more than you hate the enemys ones. This is why it's gets messy when places like NK have a few nukes...
