Kia Ora and G’day

In April I am competing in Trailwalker, which is a competition to raise money for Oxfam. With a team including 3 others, we will be doing a 100 kilometer walk in Taupo New Zealand. Our team (Sole Survivors) is trying to fundraise a minimum of $2500NZD. Hopefully, with the generous support of others we will be able to far exceed this amount.

The 100 kilometer walk is usually completed within 36 hours. However, we are going to attempt to do it in 18 hours. This will probably push us all beyond fatigue and tiredness, and I’m sure we’ll finish exhausted and with some great looking blisters!!

I do not have the advantage of having ties or links to corporate companies where I might be able to convince a CEO or Marketing Manager to throw large sums of money our way. But, what I can bring to this team is that I know a lot of great people.

If you’ve received this email, or read about it on Facebook, you’re probably someone I’ve met and spent time with over the last few years. If I started to write specifics about people and experiences, this would be an exceptionally long email!

Have a look at the below links and please find it within yourselves to help out with a donation. It would be really appreciated, and even if you can only donate a small amount, it will all ad up; and it’s going to such a worthwhile cause. You have the chance here to show that you care about the poverty that exists in the world today, and that you’re willing to make some small difference.

To give you all another incentive, I will personally buy anyone who donates more than $100NZD a traditional New Zealand Maori bone carving. I will pay for this out of my own pocket, and post it to you where ever in the world you may be.

Thanks for reading this, and be sure to drop me a line sometime and tell me how you are. I hope life’s treating you all well, regardless of where in the world you may be.

Cheers

Wow that is great you are doing the Oxfam walk Itchy! I did it in 2006 and was the best thing I've ever done! Even though I didn't finish it and only could walk to 69km because my knees gave way. My remaining team members completed it in 35 hours so just in time.

Remember to eat HEAPS and drink HEAPS and be prepared for all your toe nails to fall off! It will be so fun! Good Luck! Mr. Green
