If you were buying a BMW 318ti....

what would you be looking out for?

You know those little quirks and problem spots in cars.. just wondering what I should be looking out for.

I was offered a 1995 model, auto (would prefer manual..) with 145k.

They're not shitters. The biggest issue with 2nd hand BMWs is parts. Other than that they rock...

T's '86 318i is still going very strong

The 318T1 is BMW's UGLY as attempt at a hatchback

what would be cool is if you put chrome alloys on it, droppin on its ass with some black as tints, and then top it off with some clear tail lights

can i just ask what the motivation is behind buying a > 10 year old BMW ?

Do a google search for the 130i....A 3l 6cyl in a little 1 series. Wicked but shopping trolleyesque

My old Datsun would outlast any beemer....

I always find it a little weird when people recommend something that's actually vastly different in some way and not even vaguely in the same price range.

I wouldnt get anything short of a 320 (engine size wise), the transmissions tend not to last so well in the smaller engines. That, and 318s are ugly

I didn't actually want that one.. I was just offered it. I am going to wait around and drive my crappy car for a while until I find the right one (and this way I can buy a better one )
