IE 9 beta

anyone trying it?

Just grabbed myself and already I am a bit lost - can't find my bookmarks and well biggie sure looks oodd

want my bookmarks back

Seems pretty slick, but I'm not sure it is enough to move me away from FF/Chrome. The HTML5 stuff that they're making a big deal about is browser agnostic of course, and the stripped down look is not unique either. Nonetheless, I think it's a step in the right direction for Microsoft, even if it isn't my cup of tea.

heh, same. Actually not much desire to use my windows desktop much either now tbh.

I was reading about the battle to get rid of ie6 and we all the companies who don't want to roll out anything newer because it breaks existing infrastructures blah blah... But also a point that all the completely computer illiterate types who don't wanna move from ie6 (when more knowledgeable relatives/friends try to upgrade them) cos the interface is completely different from ie7 up. Fuck I'd hate to be that retarded about technology.

must admit to being a ms user as my default - use firefox for some things, chrome for others... I like to try them all out but always have reverted back to IE - no logical reason for it either

5 days of 9 and generally I am finding it ok, does some weird things but then its a beta...

moving onto mac at work in a few weeks... first time I've worked on macs for, um, nearly 20 yearts.... not looking forward to the initial few days to put it mildly

yeah I think it's fucking painful for people used to windows day in day out at first, I'm fortunate that I've used both windows and OS9/OSX for the last 10 years...so just ask when stuck and chances are if you get over the initial shock you'll wind up pretty pleased.

I just have to many indispensable add-ons to use anything but FF, even if they are faster and nicer looking.
