Yeah I watched it. Overall rusty for sho but can't blame that for the loss today. SL played a very good attacking game.

Smith is looking good and Kallis lost A LOT of weight was sending some balls down past the 140km/h again. Steyn looked very good as per but Parnell was shit. Guys didn't really talk to him and it was only when he got his first wicket in his 2nd to final over that he got some live into his bowling.

All up Im happy SA have the ability to play a very good tournament until they really have to win then they have a shit game. I predict they got that game out of the way first up.

SL have an awesome one-day game man. Such crazy variation in the bowling I can't see how anyone but the classiest of batsmen can hope to score big runs against them at the moment. And I'm really only talking about probably 2 players in each team. Ponting & Clarke, Kallis & Smith, Tendulkar & Dhoni etc...

Then they have aggression, finesse and class in their batting lineup too. They've gotta be nearly odds on to win the tourny IMO.

Collingwood wandered out of his crease after a delivery and McCullum threw down the stumps. 3rd umpire gave Collingwood out, but Vetorri called him back. Apparently Collingwood throught it was the end of the over or something.

The only reason he got called back is because Dan wanted to make a point about being a 'gentleman' after what happened last year in England when Elliot didn't get recalled. This incident was totally different and was completely Collingwood's fault. Very happy that it didn't affect the outcome of the game, but it very nearly could have, given that Collingwood was the only player to get any bloody runs.

I actually echo what supermuff said about the team aspect too. I get the feeling the SA cricket team is full of (and lead by) fundementally abrasive individuals... which would surely make team harmony almost impossible

What the fuck dude? Are you serious? We play badly in a couple of games and suddenly all the wheels are off and the they can't perform as a team because there is to many individuals who are great. We have won ODI series's in every continent over the last couple of years and we consistently win games against the big guns. Stop talking about NZ that is a team because they are not ... they are a bunch of average players who if you are lucky can string together a couple of games ... FACT.

Its not just "played badly in a couple of games" though is it. Its more like "consistantly underperform on the biggest stage" Again I draw parrellels with the AllBlacks who often have had the best individuals in world cups but dont deliver. you can shovel your head into the sand and refuse to admit there is a problem if yuo want *shrug* But its pretty obvious there is one

FWIW...the NZ cricket team has always been known as a side that gets its results via the "team" factor. Lots of bit players, very few class individuals, dibbly dobblers, commited fielding etc
