I thought you described how to get to the top in another certain thread if I remember correctly...? Firslty go and do some open decks, so you get used to other set ups and stuff. Then make some friends out and about, have a good demo disc ready, ask what promoters your friends know, get their contact details, ask em if you can send them a disc (CD), or have a chat. Cost can range from free, to some drinks, to $15 an hour to $150 an hour, depending on how good you are, what style you play, and probably most importantly - pulling power - promoters want punters at their gigs right, so they've got to have names that can do that. It's also a lot about who you know as well, and then how you perform, particularly when you've got a large audience, that will let you move on up. Cool? And expect to encounter everything and anything

But especially... learn to mix in your headphones because you may have to, carry a spare set of needles, a power board, a torch, a pocket knife, a screwdriver, and anything else you may need.
