I've been doing some research, but it's all a bit weird at the low end of the market. Many, many, many negatives. Of course I'm aware I could get a better TV, I just want the best not amazing one.

So I thought maybe I'd try for some recommendations instead.

I want:
  • A TV for my bedroom, doesn't have to be massive, doesn't have to have amazing features. Is the only TV in the house, but I don't watch TV that much.

  • Will ONLY be using for watching TV (free to air, rarely), downloaded stuff from my Macbook and DVDs (built in player would be nice, don't really care though).

  • Will be watched from about 4m away at a 15-20 degree angle.

  • Will have a Super Nintendo hooked up, other than that no gaming.

  • Needs be watchable. Colours normal, blacks look semi black. Having said that it is replacing viewing on Macbook on my lap, so anything better than that really

  • Needs to be slim. So LCD I suppose? Could go up to 30cm deep, would rather less though.

  • Don't really want to hook up speakers to it, so OK sound is needed.
    [/list:u]
    Any "hot tips"?

i bought a daewoo tv for the bedroom , it came with a wall bracket that, while not slim, is fine.

Does hdmi, vga, component, composite and svideo fine though from my laptop i had *some* issues getting a native res... though i think it have been the default xp drivers on the laptop (win7 fixed it).

it was cheap, less that $1k a year ago though i cant remember the size, its larger than 32 though.
