remember these parties at Superfly?
They were well loved and always a wicked night.
Does anything like this still in happen in Auckland or is there the potential for a similar party to be successful?
Not living in NZ at the moment but interested to know.
I imagine techno is still a bit of a dirty word in Auckland.

i love techno and textures @ superfly was where it was at for nz. sadly ending in very special but ultimatly devistating climax....
techno is a dirty filthy word.

Yup, Techno requires ppl with pasion and commitment, thats what superfly had, and I think that financially the epic Claude Young party had a hand in finishing them.

Good techno parties, unless locally run, destroy promoters due to lack of funds.

Come on ppl, get out there, attend the gigs, show your support via attendence.....

And more to that, techno is dirty because allot of ppl have no spirit or interest in music, they can't see the soundscapes or rhythm in the music.

I total recommend Dan Sicko's Techno Rebels, if you didn't know, you can see the influence techno has had on the entire dance community.

Especially those bastard house music lovers =\ (unappreciative mongrels, except G Churchhill of course)

yeah nikolia. it was the claude young gig that put an end to superfly. sad... one of the best, if not the best, techno treat auckland has ever had. certanly my most favoured tek memory.
i still cant believe that it didnt sell well for such a small club. the big kick in the balls though came from all the ticket profits going missing from bpm. shortly afterwards many similar stories surfaced and eventualy simon grigg (owner) was held responsible and ordered to compensate in court. he never did so in the end superfly shut its doors. i must add though that greg churchill had nothing what so ever to do with bpm's darker history. he was gutted about the whole thing.
i just heard that bpm has clossed. is this true? maybe simon grigg's past has finaly caught up with him.
