H-Town Galleries.

Heres the deal,

I cant sign up for the space, cos i just did already. Go to www.byethost.com and apply for free server space - I got a 20MB site. It'll host a php site with no ads from the server, you are even allowed to run your own ads. You can sign up for four different options up to 100MB. When you sign up you can get a sub somain for free eg: leithelpics.byethost etc..

For extra server space there are a few deals around, Ive got 100MB at www.farvista.com which gives you a subdomain also. If you own a domain you can use that, but it involves some crazy DNS stuff i dont know about.

The next step is setting up the galleries and admin - thats easy peasy stuff, and i would be happy to to help. You can output html galleries from photoshop and have a main index page, or you can get a gallery plugin to go with your php site, which would also allow forums etc

So yeah, I'm keen if you are leith, and anybody else who has pxt capability could submit too.

I've got dinner guests tonight, but i will write up a tutorial over the weekend to better explain how people can host their own galleries, which could be linked to off a main portal like leith.com



PS : i'd love to rock over to h-town on sat, i gotta work from 6pm sat untill...? I'm guessing 9ish. i dont got wheels and the last bus out is at 5pm. Im trying to sus a ride from the raglan end of things. I gots my fingers crossed and my ear to the ground.
