How safe is the country you're in?

I love NZ like no other place but compared to Tokyo its simply an unsafe and dangerous place

You can walk around Tokyo at 3am and never ever have to worry. Even if you are a hot cute girl by herself.

IF you leave your wallet on a train or drop it theres a 99% chance that the person who finds it will return it to a police station with all the cash in it.

When Japanese people get drunk they get absolutely plastered but I've never ever seen any aggression at all. Its kinda like they've had a pill as they are just walking round almost cuddling each other.

IF theres a murder its all over the TV ..... but they just dont happen that often at all. Japanese men kidnap a lot of women but never ever hurt thrm. The men just lock them in a room and TALK to them until the police arrest them. Guess they dont have the social skills to chat up a girl in a bar.

Just an observation. NZ is the greatest place in the world ...... I'm just not sure how safe it is

yeah, japan is emant to be pretty sweet for safety. Aussie is Definitely worse than NZ. Between the junkies, the homeless, and the crazy ethnic gangs.... there's a bit of crime. Highest car conversion rate in the world or something too.

but, for the most part its ok. you just think about what you're doing and who you're with.

Singapore is very safe as all the bad people get executed. Infact, Singapore puts more people to death than any other country does.

The crime news here is interesting… it never has more than 3 crime stories for the day and the crimes are so lame that they wouldn’t even make the local rag back home…

Definitely don’t agree with the harsh penalties for such minor crimes but it is a very safe place to live, especially considering that there is NZ’s population crammed into the size of Christchurch.

no, its worse than NZ. well, worse than auckland. Other parts of the country are a different story - usually safer, dunedin definitely (as long as you use ya brains.)

I have seen some pretty awful violence on Oxford Street.
Usually the trashbags in the morning (6-9am). On my way to work from Paddington.

Last Monday I called an ambulance for a guy that has his head bottled by a crazy Maori He had "severe head injuries" .
There was blood coming out of his mouth and everything.
I have seen bums kick the shit out of each other over a cask of wine, I have seen junkies do all sorts of stupid f*cked up junkie things

heh, i saw a crazy old man and a frenchman going for it the other day on the central line. the old man started it! then someone pulled the emergency stop...

but my dad works with a guy from London who reckons its actually more like 12'000'000 ????

I think London has a population of about 8 million. But that increases by another few million because of all the travellers here. So I think there is about 10-12 million here. I'm guessing, so dont quote me on this.
