Remix Magazine & Heineken return with their
first house party of the year..

Mi Casa!

Friday 15th March; @ Calibre & NSomnia

Featuring New York’s DJ Onionz, with his
blistering brand of coastal house.
He has brought to us monumental tunes such
as “Hold Onto Your Love” whose tough and
soulful funk captivated us and opened our ears
to the to the chunky, bass driven west coast
sound only a few can deliver.

With supported by local Remix residents Greg
Churchill, Tim Phin, Phillipa, Paul Dean, Karn,

DOUBLE TROUBLE FROM JOESKI & ONIONZ
New York duo, Joeski & Onionz, have completed their mixes for NRK's nite:life 09. The 6400 Crew members have mixed up a 74 minute selection each, and the double CD gets released on April 22nd. The deep vocal and latino vibe of Onionz selection nicely fits with the tuff percussive edge and dubbed out tribalism of Joeski's mix. A variety of Worldwide talent appear on the double mix, from Joey Negro, Jon Cutler & Pete Moss to Ron Trent, Mr G and Blakkat. Check the full tracklisting at the end of this item.

For vinyl junkies, an unmixed triple vinyl version will be released and a string of launch parties in the UK, Miami, Ibiza and Europe are currently being put together. More details on these events when we have them confirmed. A quick history lesson then; Joeski & Onionz both crafted their DJ skills on the network of New York’s underground clubs such as Limelight, Tunnel, Wunder Bar and The Roxy. The duo crossed paths in the mid 80’s and by the dawn of house music, could be heard spinning alongside other NY future stars such as Keoki and Angel Moraes. Outside of their busy DJ schedules, Joeski finds time to run the Maya label and produce with fellow artists like DJ Chus (for the classic ‘El Amor’) and Dano (as Twisted Pair) whilst Onionz runs Electrik Soul and also works with artists such as Mark Bell (Shaboom) and Dubtribe.

I think you're getting confused rider - Onionz at
Calibre!! Yeeah!
I guess we'll have to wait and see about
technical ability, Where have you seen him?
I'm feeling positive about it!
[quote]
Seen him twice in San Fran. He was fucken all bangin. In fact he wasnt even in the top 20 i heard while staying there for a month. San Fran is riddled with house talent though. Maybe he all better now ?
[quote]
In fact one of the highlighst of that stay was Terry Francis dropping only deep house for 4 hours. Wish he'd play more of that when he comes here.
[quote]
Terry Francis - don't even think about judging
him by his productions (which are all good) until
you've heard at least one of his sets or mix cd's.

Un-fuckin-real , makes deep house sound like
Craig David... and try to spot the mix!!?
[quote]
are you in Godzone at the moment rider?
gonna see Onionz anyway?

Biiiig skunkie to share on the night!
[quote]
What yu saying ? Terry F was awesome in SF. It as like he knew what to drop all nite. Last time i heard him at Fu he was way too techy for me. Yeah i'll prob go for sure. Never miss too much these days.
[quote]
