I dont know about u guys but almost every hip-hop song these days is about some fukin love-story. Where all the rappers with balls gone?? Did the last hope for rap die with Tupac and Ezy E??

Yeah most of that stuff is just pure shit. Cypress's new song is poppy as hell, but in saying that its a radio, mainstream friendly track that hopefully will be backed up by a half decent album.

Hip Hop just aint the same anymore..it's all about dollars and no sense. Jah Rule and his ho Ashanti make me cringe. Puffy sold Hip Hop to Pop music and Snoop is reduced to cheesy cameos on bullshit tracks..when hip hop ceases to be the flavor in pop music the real shit will surface....believe that!!

It still doesn't change the fact that there is still heaps of good hip hop to be found, just don't go looking for it on the radio or tv.

to be fair, i don't think we can really judge hip hop from here in nz cos we don't hear all the work artists put in on the streets (e.g. freestyles & bootlegs). chingy didn't just release his single & album without getting a buzz on the streets first. in general, major labels won't back an artist without street cred first.
and maybe if we grew up as poor as some of the rap artists in the states, we'd understand why they 'sellout'.
