Hiphop Summit????

Can anyone give me da goss on the hiphop summit this year? I don't seem to be able to find much except a general press release.

We're planning to come up from Wellington so ANY info would be appreciated on tickets etc cos we need to make a few plans ...

All I know is that RZA is doing a show at Fu as part of the Hip Hop summit. There's more info in the RZA post.

Rza is over a month before the summit, Rza is on Mon Sep 1st (has now been moved to the Regent, but the after party is at Fu). The summit is on over the weekend of Oct 9th-11th.

i thought there was a website on the summit but i can't seem to find it ...

i would love to find out about tix for the main events etc ...

.. was listenin to the Havoc of Hip Hop aka slave on the b this arvo ...

he mentioned that DJ Jazzy Jeff is lined up to come down for our hip hop summit ...

I think its stink that they havent moved the summit round the country more, the first one was in CHCH, and since then it hasnt left Auckland....hip hop aint just auckland, bring it back to the centres

Yep i would have been stoked if it had been in Welly!!!!! Would have been great for some of the local talent too.

Fourth Release: Programme Overview & Ticketing Details


NZ Hip Hop Limited, in association with 95bfm & The Edge, is proud to release further details of this year’s Aotearoa Hip Hop Summit.



The 2003 Aotearoa Hip Hop Summit will be held at The Edge in Auckland on October 10th & 11th, 2003. With a widespread schedule of activities running throughout the Aotea Centre, Auckland Town Hall and Aotea Square, the two day event will see both international and national hip hop artists showcasing all areas of the movement - DJing, MCing, street & aerosol art, and breaking.



This year’s summit boasts a staggering line-up of International Guests representing some of the finest in all realms of Hip Hop. Headliners are the legendary DJ Jazzy Jeff and, from the UK, turntablists The Mixologists, winners of the 1999 I.T.F. World Team Finals and both the 2000 & 2001 DMC UK Team Championships. The Disrupt The System outdoor panels, running over the course of both days this year, hosts international artists Can2, Bad Wow 123 and Atom alongside a selection of top local writers.



The 2003 Summit also boasts the strongest line-up of national hip hop musicians seen to date. Included throughout the programme will be appearances from some of the country’s most respected artists including Mareko, Scribe, Ill Semantics, Deceptikonz, R.E.S., Word Perfect, 4 Corners, Frontline and many more.

Tickets for the 2003 Aotearoa Hip Hop Summit go on sale today, Tuesday Sept 16th. All events included in Summit are all-ages.



Tickets will be issued in the form of a weekend pass. This will allow the purchaser entrance to Friday Nite Battle Royale on the evening of Friday Oct 10th, and the Saturday Nite Summit Jam on the evening of Saturday Oct 11th.



Prices are $30 waged and $25 unwaged
