TAJAI - Souls Of Mischief
Tajai is best known as lead MC from the world famous Souls Of Mischief. From East Oakland, his career began when he was at high school in the early 90s, as part of underground hip-hop consortium known as Hieroglyphics, which also contains Del Tha Funky Homosapien, Casual and Pep Love. In 1993 Souls of Mischief released their debut album “93 Til Infinity.” Composed of eclectic samples & maintaining a funky laid-back vibe coupled with the energetic and boastful rap style of the Souls emcees, the hip hop world sat up and took notice. Souls Of Mischief have gone on to release several highly acclaimed albums, and Tajai is now developing his career as a solo artist.

VIN ROC
As both 1997 & 1998 World ITF Champion, Vin Roc is the only individual DJ ever to win back to back ITF world titles. From New Jersey, Vin Roc is a proud member of the DJ battle crew known as 5th Platoon, and first began DJing in 1987 at the age of ten. He has worked on projects that include cuts for Rasco, Peanut Butter Wolf, Fanatik, Planet Asia, as well as fellow turntablist Q-Bert’s full length feature release Wave Twister. Vin Roc has also performed alongside the likes of Bjork, X-ecutioners, Biz Markie, Pete Rock, Jurrassic 5, Grandmaster Flash, Pharcyde, De La Soul, Jungle Brothers, KRS-1 and many more.

APOLLO
1992 DMC World Champion, Apollo first started his hip hop career as a graffiti artist, then as a breaker with the Star City Crew in 1984. He soon turned to the turntables and never looked back. His first mobile DJ crew was Unlimited Sounds. Next was TWS (Together With Style) along with Mixmaster Mike, with whom he is largely credited as having invented the art of band turntablism. Then came The Shadow and later FM20 featuring DJs Apollo, Mike, and QBert. They later helped form the West Coast chapter of the Rock Steady Crew which, by 1995, morphed into the legendary Invisibl Skratch Piklz. In 1993 Apollo became the DJ for Souls Of Mischief, and in 1995 was asked to join Branford Marsalis’ Buckshot LeFonque project. Apollo was also one of the founders of San Francisco’s Deco club’s “Beat Lounge”, and for the past few years has worked as part of the superstar DJ trio Triple Threat with Shortkut & Vin Roc.

more about the Graf and breaking internationals later this week including the legendary Los Angeles break dancer POE 1, along with graffiti artists COPE 2 and CES (both from New York), BATES (from Copenhagen) and EWOK (from Minnesota).
