Hiphop Recommendations?

Besides the obvious, NZ hiphop and US hiphop does anyone have some quality bumpin hiphop artists worth cheqing of late?

I suggest you guys cheq AIM they're UK producers who incorporate hiphop.downbeat.triphop. styley. Their latest album has collabs with Souls of Mischief. You will know AIM from Manuel Bundys Re:mix cd and that track THE FORCE ft QnC. If you're into that kind of thing I suggest you don't sleep on it.

Besides that i've just gotten THE HERDs CD - they do a whole cross-section of hiphop.triphop.downbeat.dnb. OZ 100% including the emcees and the emcees arent too bad!

LOOT TROOP, OKTOBER and PROMOE are also good and DEE NASTY on a French hiphop tip.

aim is wicked,along with alot of the other stuff released on grand central.
cLOUDEAD are also well worth checkin, very twisted.
for french stuff you carnt go far past tommy hools.

forget hiphop tho,DANCEHALL is were its at thte moment,there have been some badass riddims realeased so far this year!

you should check out N1PPON P0SSE, they're gonna have an EP released on auckland label aklass.com sometime.... they rap in japanese, and do some really noisey hip hop... they're based in sydney at the moment. listen here:

New Flesh, cLOUDEAD, Roots Manuva, Ttc, Gamma, Ty, Rodney P, Skinnyman, Skitz, Dj Vadim, Wildflower, Aspects, Phi Life Cypher, Mk, Def Tex.

Also the Antipop Consortium (on warp recordings) they have an album out called Arrhythmia I think they are from US but definitely breaking new ground...

Same with Mr Len check out his track "Taco Day", makes Eminem look like Craig David

yeah, that's the same unique that's on p-money's album... he's doing a solo record sometime, with dj d>form, who's certainly no slacker behind the decks... (i think i heard d>form is even on major flavours 2 in one of those scratch breaks)..

yes I know who D-Form is that dude from West AKL right? He looked a bit nervous at the AKL ITFs last year, he looks strikingly familar to P-Money from afar.

dancehalls only really dancehall when its the real deal JA produced rough as guts riddims,anything else is just "hiphop remix" as its known,which is fine,but its not REAL dancehall.
if your hiphop head looking for a good entry point to JA riddims check the new "battery" riddim by king jammys (theres tonnes of JA's best mcs doing versions) its a bit slower than most dancehall and has killer hiphop style strings,sounding like an army of killer robots marching to destroy anything and everything.
another wicked riddim at the moment is the "tabla",its sly and robbies take on the whole "get yr freak on" middle eastern thing and basically kicks timbalands ass(and we all know how good timbaland is).
as far as hiphop remix goes check sean paul on dres "family affair" (black shadow records) its is one DOPE tune.
by the way,my crew is slowly getting our shit together again and we'll be doing another dirty dark warehouse dancehall gig in the next month or so,so riddim fans keep 'em peeled.

Dude I like the dancehall styley specifically for the acapellas - they work well over my hiphop and dnb.

Too much of the real deal dancehall styley can make a girl feel stoned and I don't smoke ~~~

My favourite Dancehall dude is Baby Cham yeah....

if your a dnb fan you should DEFINTELY check the vinyl reissues of RAGGA JUNGLE ANTHEMS vol 1 and 2
(first time issued on vinyl) on greensleeves.all the tunes are from that classic 94-95 era of jungle and features all of the baddest JA mcs (bounty killer,beanie man etc,etc.)

Melburns hiphop scene is bigger than Sydney. Both the dnb and the hiphop. The hiphop scene here is better than back home - people know how to party without being so staunche. I havent been to Melburn yet, but i'm going there in June for a holiday that coincides with something BIG on a hiphop tip

Its the OZ hiphop messageboards. There are a lot of Melburn heads on there but don't expect them to give you info off a plate, most of them are cunts. There are links on there for Melburn hiphop sites and the messageboard is also useful for finding out about gigs.

I forgot I like Bounty Killa too - he did this wikked collab with Kardinall Offishall nice nice nice. Some ragga dnb makes me puke - think batty batty boys but if the accapellas are used correctly they can sound nice.

try find some hawkeye acapellas,hes the baddest mc in JA at the mo,his flow is sooo killer,even better than bounty!

I will cheq this Hawkeye dude out, there is a rekkid shop in Sydney that has one of the best dancehall selections i've ever seen

OH MY GOSH i've heard some indian hiphop its farkin good. They like (((BASS))) just as much as we do! Pity I had no idea who the artists were.

J-live, aesop rock, cannibal ox, el-p, del (deltron, heiroglyphics...), blueprint, atmosphere, asheru & blue black, apc, blackalicious, all pioneering dope mc's, producers....

Anyone like Slum Village up in here? Fall in love remix is sound.
