HIP-HOP IS BOLLOCKS!!

Ever been at Fu when they are playing D'n'B and the dancefloor is cranking? Then have you seen what happens when hip-hop comes on? The dancefloor clears like people trying to get out of a crowded lift after someone has dropped 1!!!

I've never been to fu myself but i would think that the majority (my speculation) that go are european?? from what i see of the people that are out side and go in. If i'm wrong please correct me.

I tend to find that i see very little europeans that go to "hip hop and Rnb" clubs, and i see very little of them dance. I don't really give a shit but i feel that hip hop is more about image than about enjoying your self. I think thats why i don't really go out to hip hop clubs as much as i did before. I find there is alot of negativity and i get pissed off when people scare at others just because they dance funny.
Well i know we all tend to look at people but some people scare quite obviously and that negativity is what really spoils the enjoyment for me. Hey i might dance funny but at least i feel like i can dance to which ever way i choose if i went to a trance or house event.
My love for hip hop music needs to be revived but how??? I dunno--- too many posers these days.!!!!!!!!!!

Just cos a genre isnt the best music to dance to doesnt make it crap. I dont dance to hip hop much but its a good musical backdrop for drinkin and smokin with friends. Also find it cool to appreciate the turntable skills of a top DJ or the moves of a breakdancing kru.

Thers alot more to hip hop then just dancing. I'm sure everyone who saw J5 at the BDO would agree with me there.

Drum and Bass is totally different to chilled hop beats!!!!!

Anyway Fu is very R'n'B if you heard some funky hop trust me there would be battles of all kinds.

This is true chief, I don't dance to hiphop much either (though when I do I usually have lots of fun). It stands up better for listening to at home/driving/chilling with friends than a hard set of dnb does.

It certainly doesn't 'suck' just cos people don't dance to it Psychoraver theres lots of types of music which dont have a dancy vibe that doesn't make them worthless..

Ermmm everytime there is a dnb vs hiphop gig you know who brings in the crowds HIPHOP!

Most RnB clubs will bring the brown people - I should know I am one!

All the HIPHOP gigs down @ FU have an even distribution of people - most times there have been more whites than blacks.

Music is Music - and I think you like to agree to disagree for the hell of sparking up a debate.

Hip Hop has its place in the world right alongside that Top 40 Pop, RNB, DNB, Hard House, House and all the other music styles that cater to peoples differing tastes ...

Who gives a shit about the majority of a club being populated by a certain colour.... Besides the fact that Fu Bar happens to REPRAZENT on a phat tip when it comes to providing the Auckland scene with a variety of niceness beats ... be it hip hop, dnb, chunky techno or whatevaaaaaa ....

I think we are all missing the point of this board in that we are here to discuss the music - share the luv and accept the fact that variety is the spice of life .... lets embrace differences for once instead of constantly complaining our asses bout this and that!
