HipHop Clubs

Hey there...
Hmm as of lately i have become tired of the hiphop scene...
usually i frequently visit the factory and Lounge in town..

Hmm has of lately i have be critiqing the scene..
1) the fights
2) the hootchie skanky mama's
3) the un co ordinated dancers usually guys that think their dancing is the bomb but they look stupid
4) gettin bumped and noone respecting or acknowledging you are there to give you room to dance
5) idiots that dance in a big circle and put al their shit in the middle of the circle
6) no one smiles (ugly teeth)
7) feel paranoid a constantly feeling like i am being judged
music by Dj Bounce is getting shitty and vinyl sratches
9) people holding glass bottles on the floor
10) an overall feeling like you constantly have to be on guard
11) seems as if everyone there is in competition to get a guy or girl...............

I'm sure that i will think of more later but what do other peeps think of this??
Can you see light of the positive things because i have now lost them all.

Once i could listen to hip hop all the time but lyrical rhymes are getting scarce and artists are running out of songs to remake. Most of the lyrics in hiphop music are shit.... etc DMX classic example

Are you moaning for the sake of moaning or just moaning to bring the genre down man?!

I think ya'll need to get past yer issues and throw some positvity into it ... are you there for the music or are you there to knitpick everything that everyone does at the club?! You get fuckwits in all walks of life and the hiphop scene has its fair share ... that doesn't mean its gotta stop you from attending the gigs tho!

Factory and The Lounge are RnB/Hiphop clubs. Not worth the time of day IMO. I almost got knocked out one nite @ the Factory and i'ma girl!!!

Me tends to stay away from that place...

Try going down to the hiphop gigs that get put on @ FU or WBC they're generally the best one's out!

Fu and WBC fully reprazent on the NICENESS tip ... no fights, no wannabe gangsters/hoochy mama's, just peeps who are there to enjoy the phat beats!

Hey sparkie thanks for the feedback - i know i come off negative however i'm not moaning at all, its just that has been my experience and how i have been critiquing what i see and feel.

In no way did i want to give the genre of the music a bad name. But my points are some of the reasons as to why i can't appreciate the music because of the scene itself. I was hoping to get some positive feedback in defense of the scene... but acronm thinks it is because i go to the wrong place.I used factory and lounge as an example, there are many other hiphop/rnb clubs where this happens .

Besides from fu/wbc <(don't know what wbc is) where else is there? Acronm i'm curious to learn what happened @ factory in regards to that fight :S- Well more so for my writing on the scene.

Does anyone agree with any of the stuff i listed? If you don't please defend it i need to see the other "+" side.

Wow I didn't know Loaded Hog and Leftfield music/venue can be comparible to the likes of seeking hiphop @ factory and lounge... so you are saying that those nite clubs are rude??

Arghh you don't get me do you? I'm not saying they're rude i'm saying thats how it is with those clubs - its made for the masses not the minority groups.

If you're into all kinds of hiphop/rnb go to the factory and the lounge.

I don't think these clubs are rude. They pay the bills, keep the clubs running. Its just not for me cos they don't play what I want and seem to attract the type of people as mentioned in your first post that I tend to avoid. :o)

I was refering to mainstream in regards to lyrics being shitty.

Factory is okay for Rnb I guess. But if you are getting disillusioned with the vibes definitely come to fu for 'Fus Your Daddy' or Enter the Fu. Wicked selection of tracks, good djs, good night.

I've never been to a hiphop gig at WBC but Sparkie and acornm know what they talking about..

yeah serendipity there's a fu's ya daddy next weekend 22 dec and also there's one on new years eve as well you should check out www.fu.co.nz and become a member as well you get in cheaper if you wanted to check it out. No dancing in circles around bags. No attitudes either everyone's there to have a party!!

CuriosGeorge knows where its at ... those gigs fully kick ass! niceness lineups everytime and two rooms to satisfy the soul!

Its the best club in town to reprazent dnb, chunky techno, breaks, 2 step and hip hop .... i like the diversity of genres they play ... the vibe is all good for peeps who are there to enjoy phat selections by wicked dj's.

I used to do the rnb scene ages ago so wouldn't know where to go for those booty shakin gigs anymore but if you want solid hip hop or dnb ...move that ass down to Fu, bruvas and sistas!

On the topic of hiphop/rnb clubs...

Have any of you checked out the one on Wyndham Street. It was Windjammers but then new owners came in a while ago and changed it round a bit. I think it still plays rnb.

Or the one where ministry used to be. I think i heard they were opening up again as an rnb club.

I have not been to either of these places, just wondering what it was like as i don't hear much about it.

I don't like that place jay z - how did they get away with calling themselves jay z? (ex winjammers on wyndham st)

Oh yeah and the Blue Room where the Ministry is, I haven't heard any raving reviews about the place... yet...

I'm glad you posted your reasons but i think you are mostly referring to all of your experiences from a trance/house genre clubbing view. Funny how we see things differently from different perspectives.

This shit happens i see it all the time and being on guard helps me to prepare myself if that happens because you have to go with a open mind that anything can happen. I do have insecurities however i do not think this is one.

Tell me Big Kahuna when you actually go to a hip hop nite club more than once, what your experiences are like.

For all the times i have gone out hip hop clubbing i have been with my b/f. Honestly the amount of stares i get. Just wanted to clear up last bit if you perhaps interpreted that i am one of those hootchies that go out to hook up with someone.

but if you do like it, it can be shitty putting up with some of the things serendipity listed..
me and my girls love the hip hop scene and there are some bars that are great but there are others more designed to attract numbers that we get treated badly at..
and to be honest most of the time its because we are a group of white chicks..
but its about the music and if we can have a good boogie and a bit of fun we dont pay much attention to whats going on around us...
just try to enjoy it as much as you can

Okay, i know this probably doesn't apply for places like Fu, but if you were trying to sum up the genre from studying places like the factory (i know you weren't trying to do this serendipity, but i'm just saying if you were) i'd say the genre is all about "SEX, GUYS TRYING THEIR BEST TO HOOK UP WITH CHICKS" a bit like loaded hog/leftfield.
