HIGHLIFE NEW YEARS EVE EXPERIENCE @ STONYRIDGE VINEYARD

To keep things fresh for their supporters, this year Highlife Entertainment is taking a break from Matakana and will be moving the Highlife NYE Experience back over to Waiheke Island for a premium R20 Highlife NYE event that will be held in the beautiful surroundings of Stonyridge Vineyard.

This years Highlife NYE Experience is restricted to half of the Matakana event's capacity and tickets will be very limited, so get your friends together, get your accommodation sorted and purchase your tickets now before the prices go up and they eventually sell out!

Highlife NYE First Issue tickets are $95 + BF and will be released for sale this Thursday July 1st at 9am available exclusively from iTicket.co.nz, Real Groovy, Conch Records and Stonyridge Vineyard.

A full transport service including extra Ferries, Taxis and Buses will be organised to transfer guests to, from and around the Island on New Years Eve.

For those people not staying on Waiheke, party boats with DJ's and music will be organised to take people off the Island and back to Auckland so your experience doesn't finish at the event.

International acts, local line up, transport details and other event info is to be released soon!

This is the one you have all been waiting for!

Stay tuned...

Hi - perhaps you'd like to organise a refund for me from holiday accommodation I booked in preparation for NYE at Matakana this year then?????

I'm lucky I decided not to bother booking accommodation but I imagine some others might have...!

He has had this message out there for months now... so most people would have picked up on it Smile
[quote]
dunno what youre on about missjess, as mike said this has been out there for months. and even if people have already booked, its only june, hardly the promoters fault if dim wits jumped the gun without checking.

Pretty sure he announced after Matakana that they would be having a break from the venue next year Smile

Yep he did.
[quote]
They did announce it a while back.

They didn't get the permission to have it there again.

We announced it on New Years Eve when we were at Matakana and then again in January, February, March, April and all the way up until June.

We do have permission to hold an NYE event at Matakana and we will return there next year with a festival sized event.

Smile
[quote]
We have a resource consent to hold an NYE event in Matakana for the next five years if we want to and have full support from the Mayor, Council, Police and most of the community up there. Can't please everyone though. lol
[quote]
If that's the case then why have it over there ( Waiheke Island) ? Wouldn't it mean downsizing it plus it's further away and transport is a bit of a pain. Anyway the Waterfront scene turned into a big festival isn't really my thing. Off to Gisboren for NYE Smile
[quote]
Becky... if they did people would complain that it's the same place every year or that it's stuck in a rut like many same-venue parties drift into eventually. Change is good for these kind of things.

Because we have done Matakana two years in a row and we are moving it to keep it fresh and give our supporters a new holiday destination to enjoy. Same distance as Matakana plus we have a full transport plan and party Ferries to take people off the island after the event.

I don't mind downsizing it. Makes it even better in some ways and we are targeting a more mature audience this year anyway.
Plus, there are too many NYE festivals this year and its going to be a struggle for everyone to pull the big numbers they need although very easy for us.

Stonyridge NYE is an absolutely incredible event. We used to hold it there two years ago. Wicked party.
And yeah, its def not a waterfront scene styled gig. People from all over the world and NZ come for the NYE party at Stonyridge.
This party when at this venue is renowned for having one of thee best crowds you could capture together for a festival.

Gizzy will be good too. Enjoy.

Yeah but then theres people like me who don't pay attention and just assume things will be the same LOL - I contacted a guy about booking some accomadation for next year in Janurary - didn't end up booking for it anyway, but I'm sure there are plently of dill-headed people like me out there who don't pay attention!

Early bird tickets went on sale this morning at 9am. In almost two hours Early Birds have just about sold out!
[quote]
Early Bird Tickets sold out just after my last post. Tickets now $105 + BF and selling just as fast.
[quote]
2nd issue $105 tickets have almost sold out and price will be going up again very soon...
[quote]
Nice one! Smile

After doing the first three Stoney Ridge events I decided to do something different last year in Auckland.
This year I'm looking at possibly Gisborne for a different locality as well.
In saying that I enjoyed all 3 events, they are always well organised and have a good atmosphere.
Waiheke is good in that it allows people to get out of Auckland without leaving Auckland but it isn't the most accessible location - where as Matakana is just out of Auckland but easy enough to get to. Definately need to mix things up to keep them interesting.
I'm sure the gig will be a resounding success yet again.

When can we expect the first line up to be announced?

AND YES!

JUNIOR JACK & KID CREME will be turning up!

We along with the rest of the promoters on this tour through Australia have obviously brought this to their agents attention many times over during the course of negotiations. He and they have both assured us that they will be making it to AUS and NZ unless something far beyond their control disrupts their plans.

cheers

We are building a large new Pavillion on the field next to Stonyridge and setting up loads of marquees etc and joining everything together for one amazing festival.

You obviously have no idea what international acts cost on NYE, how hard it is to get international acts on NYE when your competing with the rest of the world, what an NYE event costs to put on and the profile of these international acts to our market. Our Stonyridge events have always been about house music and this line up is perfect for the crowd we are targeting this year.

This year our event is only 5000 people. There is no way you can compare our line up to a 3 day festival like R&V that hosts close to 20,000 people and get most of their international acts performing on the 29th or 30th and not the 31st.

$105 is fine for an NYE event of this quality and venue.

Do your homework before you open your big mouth.

P.S - These internationals are well known respected names across the world in the dance music industry that have all produced some amazing music. What were expecting? More Dubstep internationals? lol

All I'm saying is value for money versus RnV your party is overpriced. One night for some small internationals. The cost of the acts that RnV are bringing over versus HL doesnt compare. Your just lining your own pockets at the end of the day and its only another night out in Auckland.

Dude.

You have absolutely no idea what your talking about.

Stop acting like you do.

Clearly DC has never actually been to a Highlife event.
The fact that RnV is over 3 nights spreads the costs out and reduces them.
Getting DJs over isn't necessarily a cheap excercie, especially playing somewhere on NYE, having the play on nights other than this costs less and also gives them the ability to play in more than place during that period (Phat also does this).
Other than the last one I have been to all Highlife New Year Events, this year Im going to RnV for something a little different.
DC must be relatively new to the scene, I wouldn't let it phase you too much Adam.

Cheers for that bro. Not letting it phase me but do need to step up and say something when someone has a dig at one of our events and has no idea what they are talking about. Nothing to hide here.

Good move going to Waiheke that'll be pretty different to most of the other New Year's events going around, should be pretty awesome.

I purchased my ticket yesterday and im very keen to see what highlife has to offer!

To be honest im not a big fan of the music but ill be getting out my "house" handbag just for the occasion Razz Ive done rnv and phat before so i wanted to change it up a bit plus everyone i know thats been to a highlife new years event has only had good things to say about it.

Thanks for the support.

there are plenty of other styles of music at this event too. Hip Hop, Funk, Nu Disco, Electro, Breaks etc too Smile

Had many great previous times at highlife events however am I the only one who has never heard of any of these internationals?
I think some promotors believe quantity over quality is better. Corogold proves this correct with only a small number of quality acts with a sold out event of over 12,000 people.
Highlife new years will be a good event none the less.

To be honest im more of a trance/hard style kinda girl but there isnt really anything on offer over new years (in new zealand)

Probably, Junior Jack and Miguel Migs are huge names in house music.
[quote]
I would expect most people to have at least heard of Kid Kreme and Junior Jack- maybe its a sign of my age- definatley more house focused but thats always been the case with highlife events.
On the trance side, agreed not much on atm for NYE but I'm sure there'll be something- those who are really into trance are making the trip to Melbourne- been awhile since AVB was on these shores..still remember his 8hr set at St James.
These days its more about the breaks/ dnb hence why I will be at RnV (Phat is too far) this time around- last year it was Rennie Pilgrem and Nextmen.
