I'm just taking a guess here

but since the drinking age dropped down from 21, didn't that kind of put an end to the "underage" scene?

I know that YBR and Spectrum etc are popular (and from what I've heard really good), but surely the numbers now are greatly decreased from what they were? Therefore interest in a forum such as this also decreased?

So with the underage scene now being people under 18, rather than under 21, surely most people under the age of 18 don't give a shite about dance music or raves? They're more interested in getting drunk with their mates and causing havoc. I'm aware thats a mass generalisation, but thats kind of how I see it, based on the people I know (such as my sister) who fall in to that bracket.

So based on that, I feel you'd need to do something pretty drastic to get interest in a forum like this up again?

Now please don't get me wrong, I'm not taking a shot at the Sub 20 forum, but thats just how I see it

The underage scene definatly isnt as storng as it used to be like 3/4 years ago with all the lagereds brains andother kick ass parties but in comparison with 2002 and early 2003 its on fire! Although there are only two promoters working for the all age scene atm, still atm theres an all age gig every 6weeks roughly, I would ideally like one every 4 weeks with a big massive fuck off party every few months Cool

well from wot i kno YBR is WAY bigger now than wot it was say a year or two ago, with The Crypt reaching capacity.
The all age scene is still thriving and promoters r now starting 2 catch on2 that with a few more all age parties popping up.
The thing is when these gigs do take place nothing really seems to b done in the way of promoting the site and such sure photographers tell people wot site the pix will be on and wot not but im sure there is sumthin more that could b done 2 reprezent

for example (im agreeing to an extent with wombi)

the youngins i know are more in to hip hop (shit) music and go to house parties. they ENJOY their youth... dont sit on a computer talking bout what they WANT to be able to go to...

This seems to be part of it.

I alot of people tend to get into dance music via clubbing and so dont really get into it until they are 18.

so what u'r saying is that i'm bored???
i guess i am.... now at least abit.....
for your information i'm 16 years old and i wanna get into the dance-rave scene, i'v been to only 1 party though...... so i mostly get my music from the internet....if there would be more parties so more ppl will be exposed and more ppl will like this music and then you will get some more people on the message board.

in my home country (Israel if its important) there are loads of parties and the rave-dance scene is really hot now!! hopefully it will be like that here to........soooooon

they arent saying youger people dont want to get into the dance scene or genre, but I think it is a fair statement that Mike has made.

Most people grow up getting used to music as having vocals, i.e rock, hiphop, country, metal, rap, pop etc....so the reason they probably dont get into it is most of the dance music around is ambient like trance,hardhouse,breaks,house...a small percent actually has vocals.

you'v got a point Trance ra (Most people grow up getting used to music as having vocals)
it's pretty weird listening to music with no vocals, at the first few times at least.....
I think dance music needs to be more available and easy to get, all the other genres are played allot on radio and TV, the big radio stations need to accept this kind of music and play it more often and then it will be more popular!

oh yea but there is george FM...... sorry, there is no signal.... my radio cant play it so i don't listen 2 it Sad[/quote]
