I disabled javascript for the site so no.

You just hit esc while it loads and it stops the 'black out screen'. IE still works.

When searching for tv/film I thought I would try IMDB for a change... found their page layout horrible so just went back to Wikipedia. The end.

I find IMDB much easier for searching film/tv information than wiki.

Went to check it five times before smartening up and using the mobile site.

Prolapse - you don't like IMDB? That's one of my favourites, but maybe just because I know it so well.

Wanted to use it a couple of times today. One day off isn't so bad, if it went down for a week that would be a different story.

davil & otari: It's more about what I 'have' to ignore than what I want to see, such as the user rating, related news/lists, pictures and videos. And the implementation of the Amazon/facebook/twitter stuff just looks cheap (web 1.0 type stuff). I understand that imakes them money, but it is completely outshone by their Sundance box which actually draws the eye (in a positive way).



It's just personal preference, I'm not trying to convince anybody else that I'm 'right' or anything.

I use IMDB, Wiki, Blogs and Amazon for movie recomendations... never read critics reviews but always read users

all this and yet syfy channel movies are my viewing content of choice

And I choose to use Wikipedia (rather than IMDB) as my jumping off site of choice Which is why I find all that stuff erroneous as a wider range pics and videos can be found on dedicated sites and thus aren't really 'needed' on the IMDB page.

I also find the users on popular sites like IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes to be the least useful/interesting/relevant/critical (again, personal preference). Instead I try to find blogs or forums dedicated to a particular 'type' of media, as well as biggie's tv/films threads which are far more mature than most and are usually the reason I visit the forums here.

I use IMDB very specifically for looking up and cross referencing the type of info it's BRILLIANT at - info about actors/crew etc. The Wiki page about a movie is far more useful if I want to know about the content of the movie.
