heh...

5 hard drives
1 cdrw
1 MB
10 sticks of ram
2 screens
1 tvtunercard
2 graphics cards

After a lightning strike 20m from my house:
2 network cards
1psu
1 switch
As well as every phone in the house plus the alarm

A large part of the problem has been the power supply in my area and theres a quarry nearby that seems to attact lightning strikes. But that cant explain it all as ive had a UPS for a long time.

I had a monitor that I bought that made a loud popping sound when I first switched it on, then smoke came out the top of it.

Other than that I have had a couple of harddrives and some RAM die on me ...and a couple of mice.

I've cooked more of my own stuff than I can remember....

the WORST thing I broke though was when I was a hardware monkey, and I was trying to fix someone's Pentium 1 machine. This was about 4-5 years ago. I thought it'd be a bright idea to flash the BIOS (machine had some REAL weird stuff going on)... and you guessed it, the mobo wouldn't boot after that... I tried hotswapping BIOS chips, but no luck....

P1 mobos are bloody hard to find... it was an AT machine, and the only compatible board we could find was ATX, so they had to get a new case and everything.... Neutral
