Just wondering what people consider to be the elements of tune that put it in either catergory.

Hard house has more high hats. Trance is normally abit softer.

Hard Trance is sort of sweeping, generally with bigger breakdowns and buildups. Similiar in construct to regular trance, but faster, harder, and alot better in my opinion! Hard house is not without its breakdowns and buildups, but nowhere near as sweeping as Hard Trance. Also tends to have that tougher sound to it with hoovers etc (not saying HT doesnt have hoovers, though). I also find that generally HH tunes are shorter in duration than hard trance.

There are tunes that kinda make the line between the two rather hazy.

Would you say Fergie is hard-trance or hard-house. I heard he has changed his styles ab it?!
[quote]
Fergie is definitely hard-house over hard trance.
Yes he has changed his style, he is a lot less hard nowadays...a lot more bouncy and funky than he used to be.

Fergie plays alot of techno based stuff aswell such as the less known BXR releases.
