Got a spam virus, HELP!

Discovered that a spam virus or something is sending out spam using my yahoo.com email contact list. How do I get rid of it? Using avast free virus and AVG free virus will this get rid of it or do I need to do something else?

once you get a virus or lots of them a reinstall is best.

Just be aware that some virus spam is only sent as from your address rather than from you directly. Though from what you have said it sounds like an infection.

AVG or Avast are fine but decent viruses might stop them from installing correctly.

Laptop or desktop?

Laptop. I'll try both tonight, plus I think Spybot Search and Destroy and see what happens.
