Couldn't find an existing thread, was there one?

Anyway - I don't care too much about who was nominated for what, but here it is: http://www.goldenglobes.org/nominations/index.html

Red carpet is the best bit anyway Very Happy So...
Kelly Osbourne: for numerous reasons, including the irony that you criticize everyone elses style, and most especially your nana-rinsed hair, you get a giant FAIL.

I want to see Jessica Alba!

Also, I want Downton Abbey to win something.. it's so awesome Smile especially the set dressing. amazing!!

Must start watching that!

I hope Bridesmaids *doesn't* win best comedy. Stupid effing movie. Was barely funny.

Wonder what dictates Downton Abbey being in "mini series/made for TV movie" catagory and not general TV drama catagory

Matt LeBlanc won?!?! Laughing

Surely Midnight In Paris will take the best comedy award, already got Best Screenplay...up for best director, too

Matt LeBlanc was fucking awesome in Episodes.

Probably the way PBS - Classicsomeshit channel markets it, they do this for a multitude of reasons, one being that the category for mini-series doesn't have as stiffer competition.

QT - Jess Alba looks pretty, but boring.

Now Lea Michele on the other hand... wowzers!
[quote]
eww did you see Angelina's arms? Anorexic much.

I have recorded the awards, so I can fast fwd all the boring bits and just watch the goodies!

Yah, thinking the same about the competition, no chance against the main drama catagory

Haven't actually seen Episodes...worth a watch? Just thought it funny LeBlanc had won anything really Laughing

Thats what Ricky Gervais is meant to be doing isn't it?

Stoked with the Hugo win, and so can't wait for The Artist.
[quote]
The Artist was the best movie I saw last year. Highly recommend!

can't really find all that much good coverage of the awards online ATM.

+1

Beyond the self-deprecating 'irony' of his character there are some real subtleties that I didn't expect from him. He's never going to be the greatest actor by any means, but it's disappointing that he has floundered his 'star power' with Joey and a bunch of utterly forgettable movies (I think he did one with a chimp, or a dog perhaps?) since Friends. Hopefully this is the start of him taking on more mature roles and getting people behind shows like Episodes (which is pretty fantastic IMO) which may otherwise be over-looked by the viewing public.

I can't believe Joey once got nominated. WTF. Also that new girl show, it is shiiiit. When you can see where the next 4 seasons are going to go in the first episode, its a bit of a worry.

I'm excited about seeing the Artist, I like that they've made something a little different, and I guess people have appreciated it.

I've been waiting until homeland comes on TV, looks like it will be good!

I love her tooooo!! Just got a blunt fringe like hers and love her style so much.. I think I look asian though HAHAH <3 she's so cute.

I dont care if New Girl sux I'm still gonna watch it Very Happy it looks kinda funny.
[quote]
New Girl is alright. I know a number of people who gave up on it after the pilot, then actually started watching the other episodes and now enjoy it.
[quote]
its not alright... sure its watchable (that don't make it good)

its a show you've seen all the gags and story lines dozens of times before... the only reason to stick with it is eye candy

and that wears thin in a age of naked chicks everywhere on the interwebs

Some people probably really like it. Its worth giving it a go, you might like it. I didnt think she was that kooky in the show, so it wasn't that funny.
[quote]
1+ for New Girl appreciation here...freind of mine didn't like it until about the 3rd or 4th ep and now loves it. Not amazing, but worth the band width imo
[quote]
Mind you, I thought "How to make it in America" was pretty average, but I know others that love it. I couldn't get into "American Horror Story" after ep1 either.

Some people probably really like fucking 8 year olds too, doesn't make it right Razz
[quote]
is it wrong I've just spent the last five minutes googling "countries where the age of consent is eight"

not everyone wants to live in aussie

[quote]
New Girl is great, the rest of you can go fuck yourselves.

Might have to get into Episodes sounds like a good one.

By episode 3 or 4 you will be better able to decide on it. I'm a fan of Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan so that colours my evaluation.

I never judge shows on their pilots anymore after too many "gets really good later on". I now give about 5-6 episodes to get me into stuff. Unless I just hate the premise or something. I do this because the pilot often doesn't allow for a lot of the chemistry in the show to actually shine through.

Also have been let down by many shows that had awesome pilots, e.g. The Walking Dead S1 vs rest of season, The Killing vs rest of season etc...
