Fil Alexander
A musician since the age of 13, Fil Alexander’s playing days stood him in good stead when he swapped his bass guitar for a career behind the decks. Fil first took to the turntables during an 18-month stint in Seoul. He landed his first gig six weeks after playing his first record and before leaving South Korea twice supported NRG master Yoji Biomeckanica. After returning to New Zealand, Fil started his own night, Saturation, in Timaru. It's proved a launchpad for his assault on the New Zealand scene. He was called up to support Daniel Ro at Fevah in August 2002 and now warms up for the world's best in his hometown of Christchurch, New Zealand. Fil is a resident DJ for Nrgize (www.nrgize.co.nz) as well as a regular at Nitrate, and has supported luminaries including James Lawson, K90, Matt Clarke, Ilogik, Phil Reynolds, DJ Scott Project, Tara Reynolds, Tom Harding, the Breakfastaz, the Rogue Element, Nick Sentience and countless other massive names as well as being one of four DJ’s selected from around the world to play at the 2006 “TattooNesia” festival in Tahiti. His last studio effort, a remix of Chromeo’s Fancy Footwork has had support from House and Electro legend Miles Dyson and New Zealand’s own Greg Churchill. Be sure to check out www.myspace.com/filalexander to check out his lastest tunes or catch him live at Global!

ShortKutz
Dj ShortKutz (Neil Davis) has been hard at work slinging down phat breakbeats since their inception in NZ around the turn of the millennium. Years of tireless dedication to the Dunedin music scene, numerous events and the running of the sole breaks radio show on bNet station Radio One 91Fm, ShortKutz now find himself bringing his breakbeats to Garden City, Christchurch.

Arriving in 08’ with over 7 years experience behind the decks and a huge music collection to boot, ShortKutz has become one of the most versatile breaks djs about. Known primarily for his energetic party breaks sets infused with funk, hip-hop, electro and ragga, his ability to play across the breaks spectrum; from funk fuelled hip-hop monsters to the soulful sounds of liquid DnB, have led to him being in high demand in throughout NZ. Performing weekly in Christchurch and regularly throughout NZ has seen support sets for NZ’s usual suspects including; Fat Freddies Drop, Katachfire, Shapeshifter, Minuit and Timmy Schumacher on a variety of occasions. While international support has seen sets alongside breakbeat heavyweights such as;The Rogue Element (UK), Aquasky (UK), Noisia (NL), Groovediggerz (UK), The Autobots (UK), Madox (ITA), Freq Nasty (UK), Nick Thayer (AUS), Superstyledeluxe (UK), Bass Kleph (AUS) and London Elektricity (UK) to name a few.
