What a great way to make girls feel even more insecure about their bodies.

[quote]
I have some highwaisted jeans and they're not skinny leg and they look good and they are really comfortable. That picture is a REVOLTING example of them and her shoes are revolting and don't suit the jeans.

no im not Smile
im just interested in people reaction to them. and im interested to see if they grow in popularity over here. very popular in europe at the moment. plus i think whilest we (nz) are relating more to fashion in general i still feel we cling to certain dress styles for too long.
[quote]
they CAN look good; they can also -- as the pic clearly shows -- look hideous.

Smile
[quote]
Definitely not the one for me!!!

which is the same for everything right?
[quote]
that pic looks stretched. no ones torso is that long, surely?
[quote]
not everything. For example, NOBODY looks good in one of these:

[quote]
High wasted jeans don't come up that high it looks distorted and whoever put those shoes with the jeans should be shot. It can look hot if you rock it right.
[quote]
They are just GROSS.

How many times does this pic need to be posted?!

[quote]
If you didnt tuck the top in it might be ok.
So it became more of a safety feature as your ass wouldnt be hanging out.

However they do look good on some peeps and I wouldnt go for the tapered option something with a wider leg perhaps.

thats a dodgy pic, there is no way a catwalk model would have a figure like that. her legs are too short.
[quote]

Women shouldn't wear wide leg jeans Neutral
Maybe the odd boot-cut but that's as far as it should go.
[quote]
Scarlett is fricken gorgeous with a fab body, if they don't suit her then there is only a small minority which they will~!

i like the way it essentiats the "pear shape" of the female form. celebrate it. embrace it. and dont be self consious Laughing

I think that the high waist is the big feature of it. If you didn't tuck in the top then they would just be normal skinnys.
[quote]
whoops i meant to end my last post with a Smile and not a Laughing
[quote]
pffft no.

just no.

And yeah, that's Scarlett Johannsson bud...

Most average chicks are not catwalk model thin so how is it going to suit most of us if you don't even think it suits Scarlett Johannsson???

on 2nds thought i think they look great on her. and also DO look great on more "normal" bodies Smile

I think that they look poohed out on normal bodies...

I don't even think skinny jeans look good as hipsters, let along waisted.

Crying or Very sad but they are my favourite pair... I'll never get rid of them, but I guess they are "round the house" jeans now Sad

I think it depends on the look for these jeans anyway - I am tempted to try a pair - I am little miss straight with no hips to speak of - this style might at least fake a pair of hips for me and give me a little shape, much like the high-waisted skirts do. Smile

And it's not like you can't cover the highwaistedness with a top
[quote]
high wasted boot leg/tapered jeans are nice.

imagine a world with no more seeing peeps muffin tops!!
[quote]
High waisted skinny jeans are hot provided that 1) you have the ass and the legs to pull off the skinny fit and 2) you don't tuck your top into the jeans, wear your top OVER the jeans

yes and when we're out celebrating, we should not be wearing those pants.

honestly, most people will just look pregnant. Neutral
[quote]
Yes, but high wasted skinny leg jeans make the curves look like POUNDING ROLLS OF FAT. When in fact, they aren't.
[quote]
I don't think any curvy girl in her right mind would wear those jeans anyway. Probaby only the full on fashionistas will be wearing them.

it really depends. i suppose it can look good but it sounds like a pretty "slutty" look. but if it doesnt look tacky then yeah that can look really nice.

[quote]
i'm not a fan, but there is this one killer pair that i havent been able to find anywhere...

high waisted jeans but the have stitching and buttons to make it look like a waist coat coming down, so theres something to cut your bum in half lengthwise but you still look long and elegant.. haha if anyone has an idea what i'm talking about, im amazed
[quote]
EEEW THOSE ARE FREAKIN AWFUL
[quote]
They're gross as gross gets.

Any gram of fat would show. Would not flatter girls with any belly fat OR bum fat, and most girls either have a problem with one or the other!!
[quote]
I think you can do it, its just about loving what you have not trying to fit into an ideal. This movie has some great hints :How to Look Good in Skinny Jeans

Well, not sure about jeans but high waisted is still the go and some people make them look quite good..

Although Katy as in a smurfette dress... dear God, she is hot.

[quote]
looking at those two photos I can only conclude high waisted still a bad look

You seem to be under the impression that all elements of Biggie work properly, well that's just another, not all links work.

I have to agree. My girlfriend has asked me to get her jeans for her Birthday- but I really don't think she'd look good in them. I usually by Joe Browns or FC jeans, but looking at their selection
Ladies Jeans
I can't see any high-waisters.. thank God! Lol!

Though, I do think you would look quite fetching in that Smurfette dress. We could play SimCity and walk dogs in Ponsnobby in attire like that. You'd be a rockstar in the eyes of dementia sufferers.

Yes Agree, those shorts on Katie Perry look horrible, but she's good looking and has a good body. She looks much hotter when she's not wearing ugly high waisted shorts, like in that smurf dress.

Just like girls with undercuts.

High waist handy for something I guess....
