Getting a credit card in the UK

No one will accept me cause I haven't been here for 3 years

hmmm, tough one. how many banks have you tried? Egg will do it if you have 2 years proof of address.

I'm with HSBC but as I opened my bank a/c in NZ they automatically issued me a credit card. sorry, not much help am I!

Same as Suzy here. And every 6 months, they would increase my limit by £500!

Still have my HSBC accounts active. £2000 equals $5500 these days. Oooo, big spender, lol

Anyway Woodger, dont you have a NZ credit card you can use?

dont get yourself in anymore debt than you need to be

all cash cards can be used like credit cards here as they are infact debit cards.

I was told the same, but about 2 months in I was in Morrisons and Barclaycard reps were there at one of those stands; I filled in the application being totally honest, and was given a card about 3 weeks later, with a £300 limit. I got to increase it to £600 3 months later, and no problems since.

Yeah, but I'd forget to pay it back if it was in NZ
