Game of Thrones

I just finished watching the first season on DVD this afternoon. Holy shit it is awesome!!!

Can't wait for season 2!!! Peter Dinklage deservedly won an emmy for his portrayal of the Lannister dwarf - he is about the only likeable Lannister there is.

Season finale has set up the second season really well.

Definitely in the top 3 of all tv shows I have ever seen, if not the top.

Has anyone read the books?

Yes. The only thing I will say is that the series (of books) is pretty brutal :>

This is why I never read fantasy. I mean, the Wheel of Time has the bullshit total of fourteen books plus a prequel novel and something called a "companion book". I mean, WTF?

Who would waste their time wading through sixteen books worth of what will mostly be dross?
