It’s going to be interesting to see what everyone will say considering together we went to 3 different events.
From the Brissy side, well it wasn’t the best thing I’ve been to, heck it wasn’t even close to it!
Sander van Doorn was on at the ridiculous time of 2pm so completely missed him as I had to mission it in to Brisbane form the goldy. Got there and it was a very weird set up, reminded me of Summadayze 05 at the North Shore Events Centre if you went to it, if not – it was held at a racecourse, stages held inside and outside in between the stands and the track all in all just strangley laid out. Place was surrounded by houses so biggest bitch of the day was the sound or lack there of.
Almost cried a little having to strain to hear Ferry over the top of people talking, sound was hard to hear from about 6pm onwards, made for a very not that enjoyable experience really and kinda made me feel meh about the whole gig.
Cox was good despite the sound, got dragged to Fedde and he was fucking boring, Tom Novy was good, The Egg was good.

Got an awesome pic of the famous stage with the set up waiting for X-Press 2 coming on, 3 sets of cdj’s lined up next to each other then 3 sets of turntables behind them, basically anyone playing before them was playing on cdj’s. rip.

Highlights – LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad, thank god they played inside and had some decent sound at least.
Joachim Garraud busting out the keytar, farken awesome
Fedde Le Grand NOT playing put your hands, made me fucking laugh my ass off

Lowlights – The sound was ass
Everyone in Australia wears too much fluoro and it blinds my eyes
Lack of drink selection, didn’t have anything apart from alcohol or water (which ran out)
No pass outs (WTF????)
Missing out on Josh Wink
The sound was ass
The sound was ass

Whats the verdict from the rest of the country?

Bring on V Festival hope it shits all over this!

Caught about 30mins of Ali B and it was a'ight, but he was being a sour faced brat with not even so much as 1/8th of a smile on his face the whole time while chain smoking ciggies...had seen him before and since he was being so boring I knobbed of elsewhere.

Caught about 10 mins of The Egg as that stage was ages behind time. Everyone on ITM is raving about DJ Falcon...he was shit! Played solely of Ableton and didn't even sound like he was doing anything other than hitting play on the next track and it was uber fucking cheesy! You've got so much love to give, eh? I know a place you can stick that, mate! Laughing

LTJ and Conrad were supreme as always...funky as fuck beats and amazing vocal treats!

What I caught of Cox was pretty rocking, just couldn't find myself really getting into it on the bank and wasn't about to pack into the main stage so ambled over to SVD and he was really fucking good. Nuts as fuck behind the decks and great tunes!

Wandered here and there, came past GU stage again while Nick Warren was on, wasn't intending on staying as I'd seen him before and would have like to see Josh Wink, but it was fucking going off right there! Absolute blinder of a set, storming prog at its very best and to see him loving it so much (considering he was probably the oldest DJ at the party!) was just brilliant. And dropping The Killers, Mr Brightside towards the end was just gorgeous! Rather over played and slightly dated track now, but fuck it brought some new life back to the dancefloor. Everyone dancing up the front was so in the zone with smiles from ear to ear! CHUR!

But I would have to say that Infusion took it home for me as "Set Of The Day" - fucking amazing!!! So good to see them finally after having been a fan for many many moons. The intensity of their tracks with the energy they have on stage is just magic!

All in all, I fucking loved Future Music Festival!!!
I was actually surprised at how few muzza's I saw! I did only go into the main stage for about 15 mins though so that's possibly why. But when I was down there, looking back up the bank at all those happy people was pretty fucking cool!
Sound systems were great at each stage, lighting was ample but nothing over the top.
Great decor to buzz out on all over the place.
The drink cards are a great idea...so long as you got in to get your cards quick enough as those lines built up pretty swiftly.

And last but by no means least, THE PEOPLE...I danced my ass off with and and talked some cod shite with some fantastic random people...all of you rocked...except the sick fuckers who stabbed people. WTF is up with that, eh? Very sad really.

i completely agree with insanity, i absolutely loved fmf - thought sander van doorn was awesome, and ferry was wicked, but after the 45 mins it took me to get down the front, through the 3 queues, i was completely over it.

the people were great, but i agree that australians wear too much fluro! do they actually think it looks good?

great day Smile

Indeed it was. Papers reported 25,000 people there.
Sniffer Dogs caught 33 people, 2 charged with trafficking, 1 charged with possession and assaulting an officer, 30 people slapped on wrist and to be sent to a "drug diversion program"
No reported overdoses.
2 people stabbed and rushed to hospital, 1 in serious condition i.e stabbed in the throat from peoples accounts.

Shocked
