Isn't Prog "Dead"?

Mr Y:

Naaa, its just gone so deep underground that now only 10 New Zealanders mix it in their bedrooms.

It's evolving outside of the public eye.

QFT... More the the point, the guy who inspired Digweed etc to get off their dumbed down trance (or should I say de-cheesed :p) and play more and more dubby, sparse stuff was...... the guy they all idolised, mr Tenaglia.

Only a European DJ/producer would make such a claim about prog. The American prog guys were busting out minimal drum tracks, click-fests etc since the 90s.

Damn straight. Although there is still plenty of warm rolling prog house coming out... with cheese factor 8.5

I cant even distinguish between a lot of progressive and tech these days Razz

Progressive remains the biggest influence to people who will continuously deny it.

I felt like this a while back. But, after having a break from house I realised that my ear was simply being polluted with tech house. Not in a bad way, but, there's just not enough good prog coming out so you cant be buying stuff all the time without straying into techno/tech house flavours.

There is a massive amount of crossover these days anyway. Much similarity in the patterns, beats, construction etc that is muddying the waters. Suits me anyway, I love both Razz
