End of an Era – The Final Weekend.

Friday 21st October - Sunday 23rd October

As most of you know already after 12 years we’ve decided its time for a change, time to seize new opportunities, and set our sights on new ventures and challenges. Both Fu Bar & Zen will be closing after Labour weekend.
...
We have a series of great events with a range of DJs and musical styles for the final weekend.

We have enjoyed these years immensely, seeing so many enthusiastic and incredible people coming through our doors and witnessing so many nights of incredible performances by the finest DJs and Producers the world has to offer. We have seen new musical forms born in this time and seen many transform. It’s been an ever-changing landscape of musical expression.

We thank you all for being part of the Fu family in this first part of our journey. But this is not an end it’s a transformation. FuZen Entertainment will continue to bring you the finest nights, the finest music, the finest selections of music from here and across the globe, the only change is we will not be fixed in one geographical location.

Thank you all for being part of the Fu and Zen story. We look forward to seeing you all in the future at our various parties, concerts and outdoor events.

Plus they're still operating an an events company yeah?

They can keep the business and hopefully someone else takes up a lease on the place and does similar events. Quite a good venue and good acts/dj's.

That's always an option. If you're fucking crazy and have too much money you want to throw away.

Krib_b. I assume this means you think it is not making a profit.

Don't assume anything about what I think.

Why do you keep asking this? Do you mean the brand name? You got very logical answers last time you asked this.

Let me speculate:

It can but the owners don't want to.

Let me speculate wildly:

It may not be the in the owners best interests to sell the business as a going concern, financially or otherwise, they may want to use equipment belonging to the business for future endevours, and may want to retain the brand value of the name 'Fu Bar'. Hell its called 'FuZen' entertainment..

I don't have a clue what the plans are but they may be liquidating and selling parts of the business..? and heck someone may or may not continue to use the venue in a nightclub capicity. Much like Space bar closed down and BAM Area 6 opened up... (and then closed down)

I heard they were starting up a new wave of british heavy metal club, or NWOBHM club.

This. FuZen Entertainment are keeping the name/brand as they will continue to run events (big and small). If this wasn't the plan then I'm sure they would consider selling the brand if the price was right of course. ie. Cashing out. ie. Business. (Haven't talked to the guys about it, just my assumption).

As for the building lease, if they are to resign it, I wouldn't think there's anything stopping someone else coming in and setting up their own club/bar? Go nuts.
