Free tickets

how many tickets get given away at each event? there must be some people out there who never have to pay for anything!!!

Well I wish it were me (but it's not). It's who you know in the business... Sounds workers get a lot from da reps.

The civic, townhall staff dont get any. There are no comps for those people. But all the gf's freinds of the DJ's must get put on the door list plus the sponsors. Must be heaps

People who sell tickets for dance parties get free tickets (ie music shop workers etc...)

From what i know about anywhere upto 500 tickets can be given out as comps (free). I know that for 1 event this year there where 500 free tickets given out.

really that's a huge amount
and how many people actually went to the event!?

i wish i could get some free tickets that would rock. i geouss were not all that lucky

comp tickets for most events number between 50--200
if this does not happen you don't get a crowd because its not endorsed by the beautiful people and the promoter cops flack, call it blood money.

id be happy to make up crowd numbers

It takes more than one person to make a good party, a lot of comps go to the people that help make it all happen.

Heh, I've been guilty of receiving free tickets now and then. I guess those that get free tickets can drag along their mates and so forth.

Often tickets go to the sponsers. Wairera water, sexy girl clothing, AMI recoeds or whatever. Often these sponsers pay money to be promoted along with the event or to be a sole supllier to the event. Ie you can only buy holy water for water, or Red Bull as an energy drink, or Stella for beer. These companies often get a fair few comps and the lucky bastards that work for them scrap it out for the tickets.

I feel that I often have put in the dues to recieve free tickets to events. I do my best to support the scene through my website (nzrave) and have been involved for a number of years... It's the people who do nothing for it that annoy me (ie. shop workers!) Sometimes they're not even interested in the event, they're just there because of the free entry. That imho is *not* a reason to go. Go because u want to be there!
