Forget the 5.6Million... What About....

...the 15 Million bucks John Banks wants to spen on a monument to Peter Blake.
Now that's a fucking blatant WASTE of money.

Sure, Peter Blake probably did a lot of decent shit - no dis-respect - but why not just a small fucking statue or plaque or something.

We don't know what it is going to be yet. I don't think its going to be a monument or statue ...I think they are more likely to build something useful, then name and dedicate it in his memory.

Even it IS a whole big bit of land with some seats and stuff, is it still justified?

$4 is not enough for a good night out.

Assuming there were 3750000 people in new zealand and they ALL voted for my idea then everyone would get $4, my plan was more along the lines of maybe 100 important and influential people voting for my idea and rigging the vote so that i won, then the 100 people and myself would proceed to go on it with more than enough cash, supplies & super models to go around

Peter Blake spent the last 20 years of his life living in the UK. He doesn't deserve all the credit he gets. Apart from the americas cup he has given little back to NZ. Peter Jackson has done infinitely more for this country, as have many others.
