i'm looking for a place in the northern suburbs - epping, north ryde, macquarie park etc - but i'm not actually going to be moving till june-ish. Just thought i'd get a feel for whats around at the moment.

I will be in the same situation approx mid June. I have to leave London and am thinking Sydney will be a good place for me to move to.

On Saturday I walked through Darlinghurst, at most apartment blocks there was a large crowd waiting for an inspection.

A place in Leichhardt had almost 100 people show up for inspection. It's really competitive at the moment.

Rentals that is. There's been cases of 60+ groups of people turning up to open homes, bidding wars on the rent price and people coughing up SIX MONTHS rent in advance to secure themselves a place.
