Microsoft has announced a new programme that provides start-ups with free copies of its Server, SharePoint Server and SQL Server products.
To qualify under the worldwide "BizSpark" scheme, designed to draw cash-starved start-ups away from free, open source alternatives, a company has to be private, less than three years old, have less than $US1 million in revenue, and be recommended by an existing Microsoft commercial, academic or government partner.
3 years of free products basically, with no obligation after that.
