Well its been a hard toil trying to get this right combining some of my favourite tunes from the year, some old, some new. Usually i would make 2 mixes, but this year just one as i just couldnt seem to get 2 to sound right. Maybe im loosing my touch in my old age? ill leave you to decide. Download the mix or hit me up for a hard copy at the christmas party (see other thread).
Cheers
Tom

Sounds pretty good, nice tracks & flow.

Would sound a lot better in VBR or 256kbps.

If you want to create a higher bit rate version I can re-host it on Audiogenus.

Ok ill do that although the last mix you hosted of mine has expired and the link doesnt work.
Ill convert it soon, i have WAV (obviously) and 128kps MP3, but thew whole disc is made from beatport 320mp3s, converted to wav through the cdjs, then recorded on minidisc then recorded onto the pc back to wav... and so on Laughing

Yeah I don't usually leave em up forever due to limited space, I host about 30 mixes. It was up for a quite a few months tho.

The mini-disc will be the limiting factor in the sound quality so I don't know if it will be worth while, just PM me if you wana sort it out.

Anyone else around here can PM me too if they want some fast reliable hosting.

Recording to minidisc is shithouse! They don't record what is supposedly unheard by the human ear, so anything above 20K, so you lose all your harmonic sounds. Though not truely audible sounds to our ears, but when not in the music, it has a huge audible difference.
Direct into cubase is best I reckon.

P.S. Fucking cool mix. Have all those tracks! Like the way you put it together man, really nice.

I dont have much of a choice since my dj gear is in a different room to my PC. The minidisc also allows me to monitor my recording levels whilst i dj. Since all the tunes are MP3s anyway, i cant imagine its much of a problem, ive been doing it this way since 2001 Smile

So... you mean the same as CD then?

Minidiscs use Atrac which is a lossy compression format just like MP3. Atrac devices usually have different quality settings so that will be the limiting factor.

Ideally you want to record to a good sound card in a PC then convert to MP3 using LAME VBR.
