Don't know what tunes you've been listening to, but I've found Maddox's recent stuff to be uniformly brilliant. Loving his Olive Grooves stuff, and his track 'Megatron' with Glazby on VC is an absolute monster Music

Pretty good, work and study taking up most of my time at the moment - looking forward to a mental one this weekend though Very Happy

How's the dirty south treating you?

As for comments on Maddox, I just heard Maddox and Karim - 'Double Edged Sword', and if you don't like it you need to get your ears checked Laughing It's one thing to big up the local talent, quite another to diss someone with proven production pedigree who is still making stuff at the cutting edge of HH. Paul Maddox FTW!!! Music
[quote]
needs more IMO In My Opinion Laughing Laughing

I'm sure everyone is into different sounds, and that a lot of people will enjoy him whatever he plays...

Smile

and if you don't, well Monkey Trouble are out back playing some phat breaks Froggy
[quote]
back room is where its at Very Happy lol. heard its been renovated too!!
[quote]
The Back room looks bling!!!
been done really nice like!!

As for Maddox , remember he is the engineer for most of the big guns,

so he pretty much makes everything , the bouncy stuff sells well in the uk ,where the harder nrg not as much ,
when you produce for a living money normally comes 1st .

I doubt he will disappoint..
[quote]
Yeah the new and improved back room is tight as! Smile

So Maddox has been on a bit of a funk tip in terms of his recent releases (No bad thing though IMO). But as .strike said he's got a whole slew of new collabs about to drop on Tidy with the likes of Karim, Technikal, Rodi Style and Defective Audio! Lets hope he gives us a sneak preview Very Happy

Wat a dick i listed tracks have a look on quote.Yea sweet fran, we went 2 that gig at smile was it like 7 yrs ago it was good, tight mixing, yea Clubcam played a good warm up set best i heard from him. I guess i just dont like cheezy vocals ill head along but 2 many vocals im outer there
[quote]
My 2c on it is that he's a hugely versatile and prolific producer with a multitude of tracks that can appeal to a very wide audience; I'm sure he's going to absolutely tear Base apart on Saturday night.

Fair call from you though Wongie, everyone's entitled to their opinion. But musical preferences aside, I'm dead excited for this gig and think the production and atmosphere is going to ensure a good time had by all Very Happy

If it gets too cheesy for ya just take refuge in the back room and i'll seeya back out on the main floor for my set right? Laughing
[quote]
Tell you what..... I'll go along on Friday night in Wellington, listen to what he plays, then write a post on Saturday morning......

Of course he may play a completely different set in ChCh Wink

Thats going back a while Mr. Green think kramer had the set after him. Abit of his newer stuff isnt to bad. Engineer's so many different people tracks that he's bound to have abit of something for everyone. Remember thrashing his remix of "never lost his hardcore".
[quote]
Jane and I played the set before him i think...or was it before cam?
Maddox looked about 12...(i looked about 14)...seb wild was 14. Shocked

Hehe...jokes!
[quote]
yeah i reckon his mix of never lost his hardcore was the best one of the two...other old goodies...

Intoxicating
legitimate sounds (was that what it was called??)
tension (or maybe that was just his who engineered it)

Laughing Yeah I remember going to the afterparty @ spags the next day to meet him coz I was too young to go to the gig haha.

Legitimate sounds was Stimulant DJs, twas a Maddox Remix. Tension was genuine Maddox original
Smile

Old favourites of mine:
Maddox & Kaye - Tales from the Krypt
Paul Maddox & Niki Mak - Reach Out
Amber D - Kiss & Tell (Engineered by Maddox)
Paul Maddox - Surrender
Paul Maddox - Mesmerised

His new collabs are A+ aswell Music

Gave his tune 'Think' with Nik Denton on Toolbox a whirl at Rach's last Sunday and was pleasantly surprised. Love the chugging bassline Music

It's got a vocal, though, so some might not like it!!! Laughing
[quote]
Ive just had a we chat with mr maddox about what he has up his sleeve...

me thinks you will all be pleasantly surprised and happy!!!!

bring it!!!
[quote]

I am so sick of everyone saying how ORSOME you were Chris !! - can you repeat the mix for us Nanas (Namely me) who had Fathers Day responsibilities and flick me a copy? Laughing
[quote]
Don't do it Chris!!!!

This will teach her for putting her father before Fevah!!!! Razz Froggy Fishy Laughing

I rang my father... he was drunk... I laughed.
[quote]
Oi you!
Froggy

I had a rather enjoyable and cultural day thank you very much!
[quote]
Haha thanks heaps guys! Stoked people enjoyed my set, was a tad nervous about having to follow Paul's set, the man is a legend and definitely impressed Very Happy

Thanks to everyone who came out (and those who were there in spirit, jaclyn Froggy ), it was a brilliant night. Special thanks to the Welly contingent who ventured down for the evening also, hope you enjoyed yourselves. Looking forward to big things to come from Fevah Christchurch in the near future! Car

P.S. Jaclyn my new harddance mix isn't far off and should somewhat resemble my set from Saturday night, with a few extra goodies thrown in Smile Will make sure I get you a copy sharpish!
[quote]
Congrats on the set Chris, wish I'd been there to hear it Smile

And doesn't that 'bouncy, old sounding crap' sound oh-so-good on the big rig?? Music

Maddox had me glued to the dancefloor his whole set in Welly.
