Not sure what you can really call it anymore.

Picked it up in Amsterdam last week.

Fire, L.E.F, galaxia and Possesion are really interesting tracks.

the rest is a mixture of everything, some is rather boring though.

He speaks of Galaxia as if he hasn't left trance and its a track for his fans saying hay im still there.

His set Sensation was really interesting, at the time he came on at about 5:30am i was far to tired to dance.

but Galaxia really got the crowd going.

it was a shame though because he didnt even last an hour, and the hopes of hearing Exhale or the dance valley 2001 theme are long gone Sad

my next question is where is the trance gone...

with Tiesto playing some other crap these days and Ferry kind of on the way is it only Armin left flying the flag?

Sad

Is Tiesto playing other stuff now? Iinteresting.

All musicians(DJs) need to explore new avenues to keep themselves fresh.

Maybe it's time for other trance DJs to come to the fore

PvD is still going strong isn't he?

van dyk and armin are still playing trance (not ALL the time though)

but the trance mantle has been passed bro... it's not really being championed by the 'big names' of the past as much, but there are still plenty of trance DJs around!

PvD put me to sleep last year, and that was the week before he was named number 1.

Tiesto annoys me now, some sets he plays all trance and some sets as at brixton its a mixture, which a lot of people i know went and said left about 1/2 through.

i dont think you need to play all trance or all house but there should be some guideline.

Armin for example, always starts proggy house/trance and ends in uplifting trance, what tiesto use to do.

Mark Norman , cor fijiman just start hard.

guys like pyhnn are coming on strong but some of there track selection is a bi werid.

i just think the sound i like finished in 2002, because a lot of stuff i have on my pc is pre 2003.

Guys like roland and remy are also doing it for me, but then the likes of scot project are to fast and hard....

argh genres! not cool

Plenty of awesome trance dj's. I have never heard an outstanding set from any of the big names personally.

Yeah. Phynn does have weird track selection! Still enjoyed his set while he was over here though.

Smith & Pledger, Ronski Speed, Kyau vs Albert, Galen Behr, Menno de Jong, Mike Shiver, The Thrillseekers, Danjo & Styles, Mike Nichol, Above & Beyond, John O'Callaghan, Robert Nickson, Matt Hardwick, Orkidea, Simon Patterson, Signum etc etc are rocking the sounds i like at the moment in DJ sets.

trance will never die, but you have to change your selection of djs, PVD admit not to be in to trance any more but define his style of music "dance music" that really doesn't define much at all, tiesto has started to play smash up and armin is still playing full on trance, but there are so many more djs playing big trance tunes, again... trance will never die, there will be always new kids coming up!!

Above & Beyond are still there going strong.

Went to the ajunabeats vol 4 release party last friday (turnmils)and was an awesome night of uplifting trance the whole night.
Smith & Pledger played too, along with super8 (??) and another juna prodution team. Was quality the whole night, oxygen party quality but with the actual producers, and so so many awesome tracks I hadn't heard before.

oh question for the trainspotters out there,
what is the new truly epic mix of 'tracking treasure down'?
In a night of amazing tunes this one stood out as it had so many different parts to it.

super 8 has been around for ages, done lots of work with dj tab!

i think alt f4 is a track they produced,

and didnt super 8 do - helsinki scorching? or was that dj tab?

Helskini Scorchin' was Super8 and DJ Tab.

Alt + F4 was produced by Alt + F4 which are two other Fins.

A lot of good stuff coming out of Finland !
